Coalition for Democratic Humanism

The Coalition for Democratic Humanism is an association of humanist organizations in Hurmu. It has received a plurality of votes and seats in the 1690 Assembly of Representatives election. It contests elections either through its member parties or on a main list.

History

In 1694, following the display of Daniyal al-Osman's conflict-solving skills the 1694 Humanist Convention, the Coalition was in Lontinien joined by the Lontinian People's Party and the National Community. In 1699, the CDH was joined by the Crandish People's Party.

The Humanist List, which holds 3 seats in the 9-member Senate, is a member organization of the party. Leadership for the Coalition is provided by Ghawetkiin Enkhjargal, who assumed the office following the demise of her predecessor Jamshid-e Osman in 1720 AN. Jamshid held the position from 1716 AN to 1720 AN, following the resignation of Daniyal al-Osman who was the inaugural leader of the CDH from its foundation in 1694 AN.

The Central Secretariat Building of the CDH, located in the Commercial District of Huyenkula, was targeted by a suicide attack perpetrated by the Green Turbans on 5.XII.1722 AN. The attack resulted in a significant number of fatalities and significant structural damage to the building. The building was later, rather unsurprisingly, repaired by ESB Construction.

In 1749 AN, Aurangzeb Daniyal Erdenechuluun al-Osman proposed to Rosamund that he should assume the co-archonship of the CDH, so as to permit her to focus more of her precious time upon her duties in Constancia. This was a remarkable occurrence, being the first instance of a direct leadership challenge in the history of the CDH. This was surprisingly granted, Rosamund having remarked that she merely signed CDH documents on recommendation of the incumbent Humanist senators.
