The 2020 Benacia Cup, will be the sixth tournament of the Benacia Cup, and will be held in Batavia in the summer of 2020. The eight competing national teams will all qualify successfully to be involved. The tournament's matches will be played in six stadiums in five different cities around Batavia.

Hosting

Batavia was chosen as the host of the tournament after submitting the sole application. The FMF Executives agreed that the bid was suitable for hosting and announced that the host's national team would receive an automatic berth in the tournament, as well as the winners of the previous tournament.

Boycotts

On 30/11/2019 the Unified Governorates of Benacia announced that it would be boycotting the 2020 Benacia Cup as part of the policy of Cultural Quarantine implemented against the Batavian Confederation and Francia owing to their allegiance to the "Neo-Vanic" ruling dynasty of the Batavian and Francian realms - the House of Vinandy. The UGB called upon the sporting authorities of all other sovereign Benacian states in the WMFA to join the boycott and to organise a "Free Benacian Championship" in its place. Shireroth aligned itself with the UGB statement and indicated that it would also be boycotting the main tournament, not the qualifiers, unless the war had ended.

The Elwynnese Republic decided to boycott from the main tournament, due to the king of Batavia (as Frankish emperor) waging war against Elwynn, unless (1) peace is achieved, or (2) the tournament is held elsewhere; Elwynn will however take part in the qualifiers, excepting any travels to Francia due to the hostilities. Elwynn calls upon the WMFA to schedule any qualifying matches between an RP member state, on one hand, and Batavia, Kasterburg or Francia, in the other, in a neutral country far removed from the politics of the hostilities, in empty stadia without playing any national anthems, for as long as the Second Amokolian War is ongoing. Sanama on the other hand reserved their decision until the team actually makes the main tournament.

Both Elwynn and Shireroth expressed cautious interest in the UGB-proposed "Free Benacian Championship".

With the signing of the Peace of Norfae, the UGB signalled to the WMFA that the boycott would be suspended for the duration of the peace. Elwynn withdrew from the boycott, indicating that criterion (1) for ending the boycott had been met. Accordingly, Elwynn would participate fully in the tournament. However, after Francia's Froyalan Tribunal declared the Elwynnese republic an illegal entity usurping the government of the "rightful" King Noah, Elwynn withdrew from the Benacia Cup on 26 February 2020.

Although a little late to the party, on 26/02/2020 the Drak-Modan national football team instituted a travel ban on the team from visiting any tournaments held in Neo-Vanic nations (Arcadia, Batavia, Francia, Helderbourgh, and Stormark) in the future.
