Vadoma I (Vadoma Rowena Waffel-Paine; born 25 Blumuar 1671 AN) is the reigning Empress of the Natopians, who ascended to the throne in 1716 AN and subsequently reunified the Natopian Empire. Her reign has been marked by stability, prosperity, and the successful reintegration of Eastern Natopia and Western Natopia into a single, unified nation.
Born in Anmutstadt, Natopia, Vadoma was the second child of Emperor Nathan II to be birthed from an artificial womb, making her the second oldest of quadruplets. She married Prince Edward of Alexandria in 1689 AN, who would later become her co-ruler and most trusted advisor. Vadoma's early life was characterized by her dedication to both religious and political pursuits, serving as Bosarch of Lindstrom from 1691 AN and graduating from Nathan & Elijah College in 1692 AN with degrees in Comparative Religion and Political Science.
Vadoma's path to becoming sole Empress of the Natopians was shaped by significant political changes within the empire. In 1709 AN, she became Co-Emperor of Western Natopia, ruling alongside her husband Edward, following the Division of the Natopian Empire initiated by her brother, Emperor Nathan III. The sudden death of Nathan III in 1716 AN led to Vadoma inheriting the throne of Eastern Natopia, effectively reuniting the Natopian Empire under her rule. Her coronation as Empress of the Natopians, held on 1.I.1717 AN at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Sacred Calf in Lindström, marked the official beginning of Natopian reintegration. This historic event symbolized the reunification of Natopia and set the stage for a new era of unity and prosperity across the empire.
Under Vadoma's leadership, Natopia has maintained its position as one of the most stable and prosperous nations in Micras. Early Life
Vadoma Rowena Waffel-Paine was born on 25 Blumuar 1671 AN in Anmutstadt, Natopia. She was the second of quadruplets born to Emperor Nathan II through artificial womb technology. For dynastic security reasons, the quadruplets were often separated. Vadoma and her elder brother Nathan III primarily resided in Anmutstadt, while their younger siblings, Leonora and John, spent their early years in Drakorda.
The imperial residence in Anmutstadt served as both home and classroom for Vadoma. The palace's east wing was converted into a state-of-the-art educational facility for the young royals, complete with a library housing over 50,000 volumes. Vadoma showed an early aptitude for languages, becoming fluent in Nats, Alexandrian, and Istvanistani by the age of 10. During the Funeral of Kaiser Ayreon IV in 1671 AN, it was decided that of the four siblings born to Nathan II, Vadoma would remain in Lindstrom, as a precaution against unforeseen catastrophic events, terrorism, or assassinations. John had an obligation to be there as King of the Draconians, and Nathan III had an obligation to go as Natopian heir apparent. Of the two sisters, it was decided between Leonora and Vadoma that Leonora should go so she could be with her favorite brother, John. The siblings seem to find dark humor in the necessity, which is a directive of their father Nathan II, and have been quoted by the media referring to whichever sibling is not present as "the spare." Because she was often left alone, she became very introspective, macabre, and study-focused, and turned to the Dozan Bovic Church for guidance.
Education
Vadoma attended Nathan & Elijah College Prep in Anmutstadt for her primary and secondary education. She distinguished herself in extracurricular activities, particularly excelling in theatre, orchestra, and debate. Her performances in school productions were noted for their emotional depth, while her debate skills earned her several regional championships.
In 1692 AN, Vadoma graduated from Nathan & Elijah College a year ahead of schedule, earning degrees in Comparative Religion and Political Science. Her academic achievements were complemented by private theology and church law lessons from Pentheros Sergius, preparing her for her future role as Metrobosarch of Tapfer. Vadoma's educational pursuits did not end with her formal schooling. She continued to expand her knowledge, earning several honorary degrees:

Marriage
In 1689 AN, Vadoma married Prince Edward of the House of Carrillo, causing some controversy as he is a man seven years her senior.

Bous guided me to Edward, he showed me a future with him filled with love, children, grandchildren, and my own personal growth and prosperity. Bous revealed a future to me beyond current comprehension, all I know is that Bous offered me a choice between a fulfilling future with Edward, or an uncertain future, languishing under the shadows of my siblings as I struggled for relevancy in the church. I will always put Bous and Church first, but Bous wants me to serve a more active role in the world, and by marrying Edward--who is a lovely man by the way! Following the public announcement of her revelation from Bous, she began training to be a bosarch in the Dozan Bovic Church. In 1688 AN, she was appointed as Bosarch of Lindstrom. She participates in Herds under the guidance of an elder Bosarch. In 1691 AN she became the full Bosarch, but due to her age was withheld from full confirmation as Metrobosarch of Tapfer, a position usually held ex officio by the Bosarch of Lindstrom, until her accession in 1692 AN after an accomplished and well-respected career in the church.

Vadoma ascended as Co-Empress of Western Natopia on 7 Blumuar (V) 1709 AN, sharing the throne with her husband Edward I. Their joint rule saw significant economic reforms, including the establishment of the Western Natopian Development Fund in 1710 AN. This fund channeled investments into infrastructure and emerging industries, bolstering Western Natopia's economic growth and the strengthening of its defenses.
The couple's reign saw a unique division of responsibilities. Edward I took the helm in matters of state, often making decisions on Vadoma's behalf. His political acumen complemented Vadoma's focus on her religious duties as Metrobosarch of Lindstrom . This arrangement allowed Vadoma to dedicate significant time to her role within the Dozan Bovic Church, strengthening its influence throughout Western Natopia.
Chancellor Ernesto de la Cruz's government found a staunch ally in Vadoma for the development of the Western Natopian Defense Forces. This military expansion became Vadoma's pet project, reflecting her commitment to Western Natopia's security and sovereignty.
