The Etzeland national football team is the football team which represents the Mondosphere constituent nation of Etzeland. It is a member of the CTFA. The team is the official successor of Treisenberg, Leichenberg and Helderbourgh, and as such retains their records.

History

The team was founded in late 2021 after Etzeland, the successor state to Helderbourgh, successfully claimed on Micras as a constituent nation of the Mondosphere. Prior to Helderbourgh, the team had been known by the names of the two predecessor states of Treisenberg and Leichenberg. As Treisenberg, they advanced from the 2013 qualifiers to the CiboTap Championships and placed fourth before finishing in mid-table positions in the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 qualifying campaigns under the name of Leichenberg.

After competing as Treisenberg once again for 2018's qualifiers, failing to advance once more, they participated as Helderbourgh in the following year's qualifiers with the same outcome. However, in the CiboTap 2020 qualifiers, Helderbourgh successfully reached the finals, where they were eliminated in the group stage.

In the following year's CiboTap qualifiers, the team finished second in their four-team group with seven points, ahead of Akhidia by virtue of goals scored, to advance to the play-offs, where they lost on penalties to Sankt Ludwigshafen after tying on aggregate.

The 2023 FMF World Cup qualification rounds saw the team finish second in their six-team group with twenty points, leading to a place in the play-offs, where they lost to New Sussex in the first round.

The team competed in the CiboTap 2024 qualifiers the following year, where they placed second their five-team group with 17 points to qualify for the finals. At CiboTap, the team were eliminated at the first hurdle after finishing third in their four-team group with three points.
