The flag of Phinbella (Phineaner: Bendera Phinbella; Taesongean: 핀벨라의 국가; RR: Phinbella-ui gukgi), otherwise known as the flag of the Federal Republic of Phinbella (Phineaner: Bendera Repablik Persekutuan Phinbella; Taesongean: 핀벨라연방공화국의 국가; RR: Phinbella Yeonbang Gonghwaguk-ui Gukgi), contains a light blue field with a canton of the five national colours of blue, yellow, red, green and purple and seven white stars – plus seven yellow five-pointed stars and a main figure of Phinbella, Mat Phineas Flynn who created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, which is placed on a light blue field. The current flag is the third used by the country since its establishment on 6 January RP 2615. The canton containing the five national colours is the traditional ensign used during the Phinbellan provisional government and will be used as the national ensign until RP 2616.
In RP 2616, there was a debate about changing the flag that lasted for several days and the flag at that time was opposed by most of the Micras community due to its similarities with flags from the real world, a flag designed by a former Hazarbashi, Yaşar Talha Bülbül officially adopted on April 21 by the national flag of five stripes was made into a canton and also the nine yellow stars were replaced by seven colored stars.
Again in RP 2619, the flag of Phinbella was changed like its first flag, but the five-colour strip was maintained, but the seven five-pointed stars were changed to yellow where they were previously coloured, and the position of the stars was still maintained as the previous flag. Furthermore, the golden yellow sword has been removed. The current flag was adopted on January 20.
The seven stars found on the fly half of the flag are officially known as the Phinbellan Stars since RP 2616.
Design
This flag has a strong influence from the Britannic Empire even though it was never colonized by the empire. Usually some territories in Phinbella that use the Blue Ensign. The flag of Phinbella uses its traditional ensign as a canton, instead of the blue ensign, it has a sky blue field instead of the conventional blue. During the Phinbellan provisional government, the official flag at that time used the same canton with the conventional blue field and also a red field.
The flag of Phinbella uses three prominent symbols which are:
- The Phinbellan national colours;
- The seven five-pointed Phinbellan stars;
- and Mat Phineas Flynn.
Symbolism
A canton with five horizontal stripes of different colours (blue, yellow, red, green and purple) running from right to left, and it is the national colour of Phinbella. The canton also has seven white five-pointed stars. The blue symbolizes the sky, the galaxy and the unity of the Phinbellans. Golden yellow is for the head of state which is the President of Phinbella and also the sun that gives light and life. Red symbolizes the people and their determination to work for the future in unity and love, as well as the blood shed in the struggle of the Phinbellan people. Green represents the land and the natural environment. Purple symbolizes the mixing of ancestry between royal family or nobility and the lower class of people, because most Phinbellans have a mixture of ancestry between royal family or nobility and commoners, or a mixture of humanoid alien nobles and commoners of the human species. White on the canton stars represents justice, peace, purity and social harmony.
A sky blue or light blue field has been used on the flag since RP 2612 until now, the colour being the colour of the fur of Phinbellan national animal, the platypus. Although platypuses usually have brown fur, Perry the Platypus' fur is light blue. Golden yellow is also the colour of the beak and soles of the platypus. The sky blue symbolizes the seas around the Phinbellan territories, namely the Captive Sea and the Strait of Pearls which are also Phinbellan territorial waters.
These seven five-pointed stars are known as the Phinbellan stars, and they are an interesting feature in the flag of Phinbella, and these stars have their own meanings. The arrangement and position of these stars geographically correct and that representing the locations of the seven centers of the Phinbellan provisional government where their constitutions were adopted before the government was unified in September RP 2600, and also the capital of the government-in-exile. These stars also represent the seven elemental powers namely lightning, wind, earth, fire, water, leaves and light, each of these elemental powers also has three level and also its properties. The Phinbellan stars also represent the seven entities in the Federal Republic of Phinbella, namely Free area of the Federation, Oriental Hispanioéire Taemhwan, Niuē i Taman Lawang, the special administrative territories, Permata Mutiara, Tanah Tōnán'hyôrï and the Ross Dependency. On the current flag, three of these seven stars are reversed where they symbolize that from the seven elemental forces emerges the elemental trio group.
