The Province of Vipia, comprised of a portion of the former Babkhan satrapy of the same name, was liberated from the non-Euran population of Krasnovlac by the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces through Operation Southern Pride and Operation Southern Comfort, with the support of the Trans-Euran Command of the Raspur Pact in 1733 AN.
History
- 13.III.1732 AN Operation Southern Pride begins.
- 1.VII.1733 AN Operations Southern Comfort begins with the public promulgation of an Autokratorial Decree, carried widely on national media in Constancia and elsewhere. General Shanene Hadewych appointed Military Governor, of the area tentatively named Krasnovia[1], but referred to in official documents as Southern Constancia. Liondari is designated the interim capital in accordance with the Autokratorial Decree, while former capital Belaov is recognized as a major settlement. Admiral Saifullah Noach named Military Governor of the island, tentatively named "Eastern Krasnovia", but referred to in official documents as as Southeastern Island, with Fort Concord as designated island capital. Imperial Constancian Ambassadors to Nouvelle Alexandrie, Oportia, Suren and Zeed brief their respective counterpart foreign ministers and provide a certified copy of the Autokratorial Decree.
- 2.VII.1733 AN Military Governor General Shanene Hadewych establishes a forward command post at Mehrshahr, then is helicoptered aboard KP Imperial Will, steaming offshore, where he has a command conference with Military Governor Admiral Saifullah Noach that lasts the whole afternoon and evening.
- 3.VII.1733 AN Elements of the Merarhia Pezonauton (Marine Division) begin securing the area known as Liondari. GV-7(MCB) Leviathan sighted as being in operation within the area. KP Princess Delphine, Compassion-class hospital ship docks near the former settlement Belaov with Imperial Constancian Navy forces providing security, and begins medical operations, setting up a triage dock.
- 4.VII.1733 AN Military Governor General Shanene Hadewych lands in Liondari, and provides a speech that is broadcast live. He announces that all residents of the area are now subjects of the Imperial State of Constancia and under Constancian protection. Those who decline protection are invited to make themselves known. Once identified, they are gathered and expelled, either to their embassy, if applicable, or hence to Kara and then the Eastern Euran green after undergoing biometric identity capture.
- 5.VII.1733 AN Elements of ESB Construction land and begin efforts to construct a proper commercial pier.
- 6.VII.1733 AN Military Governor General Shanene Hadewych lands in the former Belaov, and provides another speech that is also broadcast live. Same process that took place in Liondari also happens in the former Belaov.
- 7.VII.1733 AN Elements of the 507th (Nivardom) Army begin reinforcing forces in the former Belaov as well as in Liondari. Elements of the Aerometaferomeni Merarhia (Airborne Division) are airdropped at designated locations to secure the southern and western borders with Oportia.
- 1.VIII.1733 AN ESB Sanitation is awarded a contract for Liondari.
- 1.IX.1733 Taxiarchos (Brigadier) Nikolai Sadhana of the Imperial Constancian Army is designated City Military Governor of Liondari.
- 23.IX.1733 AN By Autokratorial Decree, the former Belaov is renamed Primograd, with effect on this date, birthday of Giakoumis.
- 1.XIII.1734 AN The Board of Directors of the Honorable Company resolved to establish a residency in Liondari, and a subresidency in Fort Concord. The usual residency requirements of a ziggurat and flaktowers and an airport were to be included in future development plans.
- 2.XIII.1734 ESB Power is awarded a 50-year contract and concession to supply and provide power for the entire Constancian Vipia.
- 3.XIII.1734 ESB Construction is awarded a contract to construct a highway between Liondari and Primograd.
- 23.VIII.1734 AN Following the rotation of deployed forces, Vipia Corps was established in Constancian Vipia, based around Home Guard personnel resettled in the new colony. The corps was organised into four divisions supported by a tagmata strength detachment of units from the regular Imperial Constancian Army.
Garrison
The "Vipia Corps" of the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces, attached to the Surenid 509th Army, comprised of 57,600 Home Guardsmen, resettled in the province from Molivadia, Nivardom, and Raspur, supported by a combined arms tagmata, formed by detachments rotated from the professional regular army. The regular component of the corps was responsible for the operation of 75 infantry fighting vehicles and 136 field guns provided from the general allocation of equipment for Nivardom Banner Command from the Trans-Euran Continental Theatre Command.
Duties of the garrison would chiefly include maintaining vigilance against the Confederacy of the Dispossessed, securing the frontier with hostile Daau, facilitating the movement of allied forces within and through the province as needed, the provision of aid to the interim military government, and the suppression of any remnant "Krasnovlacian Tudeh" elements within the retained non-native population.
