With a multicultural population and recognising the need to respect cultural identities of the major ethnic groups within the nation, Daau has four official languages: English, Yewlang, Matabese, and Tamil. English is the lingua franca and numerous public services are available only in English. History

Ancient Daau

Further information: Early history of Daau

In year 869, a group of exiled men from an unknown tribe wandered to modern day Seragaan and called the area Seraga, meaning the blessed land as the group found fresh food and water sources near the area. The news quickly spread about this area where there was fresh food and unlimited natural resources. The exiled men and their familes settled down here and called this time of their lives the great blessing. They then called the land Daau in order to pay respect to their great God which blessed them this land. The year 1606 saw the revolt of the Dauians as they were occupied by the Yewlang while the Yewlang burnt the rebels' settlements, this saw an instant rage in the Dauians and the revolt began. Led by former Dauian army general Jack Huma'at, the Dauians quickly wiped out outpost by outpost and swiftly made the Yewlang surrender. The revolt ended in 1607, over a span of 1 year. Most of the Yewlang people were forced to move to Daau and settle in modern day Erjunkozraxha. Following the departure of the foreign forces, the locals soon formed their own government and began handing out resources to heavily damaged parts of the nation in hopes of one day returning to the prime times of the nation. The new government called modern day Daas-Bedok as their capital and named it Betak, meaning land of peace.

The Civil War

Further information: Dauian Civil War

Despite being heavily damaged by the revolt, the Dauians however would see another round of fighting as in 1614 as wars broke out in the country following anarchy and the sudden absence of government as the then President would suddenly escape the nation due to heave corruption. The Dauians were split into 3 groups, the Red Bloc, Al-Tufail and the Liberators. The main battlefield was the Seraga Field where it saw the death of 40,000 Dauians in one day, becoming the most lives Daau has lost in a day in war. The war eventually ended 6 years later in 1620 with no clear winner.

Al-Tufail would drive away foreign forces trying to gain advantage over Daau and succeeded in winning the people's hearts. In 1622, it was declared that Al-Tufail had won the war and would continue to rule over Daau.

Al Tufail

Although the group was named Al-Tufail, it was led by Dauian Xi Yen Kang who would then be named as the founding father of Daau. Yen Kang being a devoted Muslim set up the country's legal system with references to the Muslim belief, strongly believing that all should be equal and serve the nation well. Yan Kang's beliefs were appreciated by the public and had good response.

Present

Daau nowadays however has decided to go against the Yen Kang system and under a new leadership, entered its new dynasty. Daau has opened up as a result of the new president, Xi Bing Jin. The nation has also allowed multiple international organizations to set up headquarters in the nation and start trading worldwide as to allow Daau to catch up with the modern world. Daau is now developing more industries and has invested loads into its infrastructure to hopefully one day fullfill the vision of the settlers, a pleasant and vibrant Daau.
