Operation Anthosmías, the Allied Mission to the Suren Confederacy, was commenced by the Trans-Euran Theatre Command on 19.I.1692 AN, subsequent to the announcement of the Fontainebleau Accords which had normalised relations between Constancia and the formerly antagonistic Suren, transferring the ancient city of Mehrshahr into the domains of Surenshah in return for Duranian Highlands and the alignment of Surenid defence and foreign policies with those of the Raspur Pact.

Remit

The Allied Mission, led by Nivardom Command under the operational command and control of the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces, had four primary objectives:

  1. To protect and secure the sovereign territory, air space and exclusive economic zone of the Suren Confederacy;
  2. To provide security and full support (including civil engineering and logistics) for the completion of the Pan-Euran Highway along its Surenid section;
  3. To modernise the Popular Levy of the Suren Confederacy:
    1. Standardisation of doctrine, organisation, and training;
    2. Delivery and integration of equipment (vehicles and munitions) furnished under the Fontainebleau Accords;
  4. To render support to the civil power in the Suren Confederacy for the commencement of a programme of reform in its system of governance.
  5. Construction of the Basileusa Cleo Charitable Hospital in Surenshahr, a teaching hospital staffed by Constancian military personnel from the health services, as well as volunteers. It currently conducts a program educating locals on basic first aid and sanitation, as well as a subsidized nursing apprenticeship program for interested individuals, similar to the Basileus Petros III Charitable Hospital in Raspur City.

Operation Anthosmías subsequently became the response of Trans-Euran Command to Zeed's invasion of the Suren after 17.II.1693 AN. The mission subsequently covered Constancian involvement in the Kapavian insurgency and Operation Jungle Bolo, and would subsequently see two field armies raised and contributed to the Norasht campaign against the Confederacy of the Dispossessed.

In order to prepare for the reorganisation process, which would see the Popular Levy replaced in the national defence role by the Surenid Armed Forces, a professionalised and all-volunteer force, over the course of 1718 AN1720 AN, the mission of defending the Norashti frontier would be vested in the hands of the Lashkar-e-Yazatá, the Constancian Home Guard, and the Benacian Eura Corps fielded by the Benacian Union Defence Force and Local Auxiliary Franchises. This process would necessitate the permanent establishment of the Popular Levy and the Gendarmes would be assigned to training camps overseen by military missions invited from member-states of the Raspur Pact.
