Fränzi-Ferdinanda des Vinandy-Windsor (Amorica, 1552 - 's Koningenwaarde, 1577 AN) was queen of Batavia from 13 Herfstmaand 1568 AN to 3 Bloeimaand 1577 AN. Fränzi-Ferdinanda was married to Constantijn Windsor on 26 Grasmaand 1575 AN, with whom she had two children. She was the eldest child of King Arkadius Leopold des Vinandy (1502 - 1565 AN) and his wife Ærinndís des Vinandy - Ettlingar Freyu.

Her mother is the sister of the current High King of Stormark, so she was second line of succession. She was also appointed by Queen Anne-Marie of Ravaria as heir to the Ravarian throne, which gives her the title "Duchess of Levensburg".

Early life

Fränzi-Ferdinanda was born in 1552 AN at Château Cour-de-forêt in Amorica, the eldest daughter of King Arkadius Leopold des Vinandy (1502 - 1565 AN) and his wife Ærinndís des Vinandy - Ettlingar Freyu. After her education she became active in aid organization Noblesse Oblige.

Marriage and children

On 3 Lentemaand 1562 AN, it was announced that Princess Fränzi-Ferdinanda would marry Constantijn Windsor. This united the House of Vinandy and the House of Windsor, a cadet branch was formed: House of Vinandy-Windsor. The ceremony was planned for the end of 1568 AN.

Eventually the marriage was postponed until 26 Grasmaand 1575 AN, after which it took place in the Cathedral of 's Koningenwaarde. Two children were born from this marriage:

  • Willem des Vinandy-Windsor (1576 – 1592 AN) King of Batavia (1588 – 1592 AN)
  • Anna des Vinandy-Windsor Queen of Batavia (1602 – 1614 AN) x Filips van Hertenbosch

Succession and abdication

When Arkadius II was killed on 18 Oogstmaand 1567 AN, she initially stated not to be interested in the Batavian throne. This caused speculation and political discussion on Arkadius' succession, with leading contenders being her uncle the High King of Stormark as well as senior Batavian politican Alejandro Gonzalez. On 29 Oogstmaand 1567 AN, however, she came back on her decision and ordered the preparation of her coronation. However, she hasn't been sworn in yet, and certain forces in the Batavian Lagerhuis question the possibility of rescinding on what they saw as a peremptory renunciation. However, at least her uncle has accepted her decision. On 13 Herfstmaand 1567 AN, she was crowned Queen of Batavia.

On 3 Bloeimaand 1576 AN, Fränzi-Ferdinanda announced that her cousin Antonius Frederik Karel des Vinandy had survived the attack on the Royal family. Then she expressed her intention of abdication in favor of her nephew.
