Craitish calendar

Not to be confused with the Craitish dating system.

The Craitish calendar is the official calendar of Craitland. It is used alongside the Gregorian calendar, and does not increase the frequency of the passing of years.

Dates

The Craitish calendar consists of twelve thirty-day months and five "holidays" which are not considered to be a part of any named month. The calendar both begins and ends on 31 October; representative of the Craitish tradition of celebrating the new year at midday.

In non-leap years, the five "holidays" are held on 1 April (March's Day), 2 May (May's Day), 2 July (Mid-Summer's Day), 31 October (Craitish New Year), and 31 December (Mid-Winter's Day). In leap years, the additional day falls through an extended Mid-Summer's Day which instead lasts for 48 hours, with earlier "holidays" in the year aligning to different dates than usual due to the Gregorian calendar utilising 29 February as its additional day.
