Template:Gerenian city Victoria is a city in Erstveda province in Gerenia, capital city of Panormos district. As a planned city built north of Port Elerat, it has a modern infrastructure and more available space to grow than other towns in the region.
History
The first urbanization plans that talk about Port Elerat's expansion to the north were drawn up in mid-2012. The swampy terrain was drained, and then a small town built. Victoria was founded as Atvia Viktória ("Victoria Settlement"), in September (however, it has always been referred to as simply "Victoria"). By the end of the year, Victoria was connected by rail with Port Elerat and Kastalar, in the west, and had a population of 3,000.
Between 2013 and 2014, the ground was broken on a huge construction project, which would give birth to modern Victoria. Buildings sprung up one after another, and in October 2013, the town gained city status (before that date, it was considered a suburb of Port Elerat). Thousands of workers and engineers from Meeredres took part in the building process, and were given homes in the city in exchange for their labour. In these two years, the population rose to 29,000.
In 2014, Annlis Leberat became the first woman to be elected mayor of a Gerenian city.
