Hurmu state visit to Sankt Ludwigshafen

On the invitation of the government of Sankt Ludwigshafen, a Hurmu delegation visited Sankt Ludwigshafen from 10.VIII.1719 to 15.VIII.1719.

The delegation consisted of:

• Li Naomiai Avon-El, Chancellor of the Order of the Holy Lakes and ex officio Presiding Officer of the Senate of the Lakes
• Mondo Etzeterra, in his capacity as Senator and Secretary of State for External Relations
• Mukarram Zubeir AM, Minister of International Trade (Social and Democratic Party of Hurmu), accompanied by his wife Jameela Birjin.
• Siw Stai, the newly appointed ambassador of Hurmu to Sankt Ludwigshafen, accompanied by her wife, Stina Einhorn.

Trip

• 10.VIII.1719 08:00 (Hurmu time; CMT+03:00): Leave Huyenkula (gate) for Walstadt (gate).
• 09.VIII.1719 19:00 (Whales time; CMT-10:00). Arrive seconds later at (gate).
• 09.VIII.1719 19:02: Get into taxi, drive to the Palace of Whales
• 09.VIII.1719 19:18: Arrive Palace of Whales. Meet Prince, have dinner together. Stay over in the Palace overnight. Minister Zubeir did not speak much during the dinner and seemed not to want to touch his food either.
• 10.VIII.1719 07:45: Leave Palace of Whales. Drive to Walstadt International Airport.
• 10.VIII.1719 08:08: Arrive Walstadt International Airport. A light transport aircraft from the Whales Auxiliary Force, along with its crew, is made available for the delegation.
• 10.VIII.1719 08:23: Depart Walstadt International Airport
• 10.VIII.1719 10:10: Arrive at Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen airstrip.
• 10.VIII.1719 10:11: As the delegation disembarks from the plane, they are awaited and greeted by the Hans Schafenweide, Stadtholder of Sankt Ludwigshafen as well as Lea Seefang, President of the Stadtparlement, Anne Schafenweide, CEO of Osthügel Motorenwerke on behalf of the industry of Sankt Ludwigshafen.
• 10.VIII.1719 10:12: The military band of the Kriegskorps Ludwigshafen starts playing the national anthem of Hurmu, Hanwen u-Brida, and the Ludwiggian representatives sing it along completely as they have memorised the text beforehand.
• 10.VIII.1719 10:16: After the anthem has been sung, the military band starts playing traditional Ludwiggian nautical songs while salted whitefish and whale blubber are offered as snacks to the visitors.
• 10.VIII.1719 10:30: As the guests are finishing their snacks, three regiments of the Dragonerkorps Ludwigshafen, totalling 576 riders accompany three carriages that are towed by four horses each. They will take the diplomatic guests to the capital city for a festive entrance of the guests into the republic.
• 10.VIII.1719 14:00: The guests arrive in Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen where they are greeted by thousands of people waving small Hurmu flags, Li Naomiai is invited to address the people of Sankt Ludwigshafen.

Riding the grasslands

On the morning of the 11th, Siw Stai, the newly appointed ambassador of Hurmu to Sankt Ludwigshafen, accompanied by her wife Stina Einhorn, went to the Stadtholder, Hans Schafenweide, to give him her accreditations as ambassador. As they reached the Stadtholder's mansion in the morning, they were met also by Hans's husband Arthur Delfinenstrand, and their two well-behaved children, Emilia and Kaspar. Siw and Stina understood that later this day, Hans and Arthur would host the rest of the Hurmu delegation for a banquet, while the Siw and Stina had been invited out on the steppe – as was apparently tradition for newly appointed ambassadors to Sankt Ludwigshafen, or so Kaspar had whispered to them over tea that morning.

Having then left the Mansion, they were taken by carriage to the outskirts of the city, where they were met by Charlène Jolicoeur-Schafenweide (a Lady of the Holy Lakes by birthright), the former widow of Hans's brother Simon Schafenweide but now married to Razzie Waldfûrcht. Razzie, too, was there to meet them.

They were all by a stable with the finest of horses, and Razzie invited the three others to join them inside the stable to pick out suitable horses for their ride.
