The Humanitarian Mission in Former Lostisland (HMFLL) is a major humanitarian initiative undertaken by the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie and the Çakar Empire in the wake of the collapse of the Republic of Lostisland, a set of islands in the Captive Sea near Keltia. Lostisland's order descended into chaos after a series of devastating regional droughts also experienced by the neighboring New Alexandrian Regions of New Luthoria and parts of Valencia.
The purpose of the mission is to provide immediate relief and aid to the affected populations of Lostisland, prevent the island from falling into anarchy and chaos (in particular to the remainders of the Confederacy of the Dispossessed near or around the Captive Sea, and to prevent a humanitarian crisis from destabilizing the archipelago. This was initiated in Nouvelle Alexandrie in accordance with the Humanitarian Assistance and Protection Act of 1717.
The joint mission commenced on 26.XI.1726 AN and is ongoing, being the first joint military and humanitarian mission conducted by the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie and the military of the Çakar Empire.
Background
For Çakaristan, a potential threat to peace and disruption of order is a major concern. The region has just recovered from the Sanpo-Çakar War, so the Shahanshah immediately called his friend, Sinchi Roca, for joint action. It is also undeniable that the Çakari Armed Forces is in need of a boost, especially in this region. The reconstituted navy, the Naarangee Fleet, was deployed operationally for the first time. The fleet received support from an aircraft carrier of the Pearl Fleet. And a Sanpo naval vessel participated.
Objectives
The primary goals of the HMFLL are to:
- Provide emergency relief, including food, clean water, and medical supplies, to the affected populations;
- Prevent the islands forming the Republic of Lostisland from falling into The Green, allowing the Confederacy of the Dispossessed to seize the islands as an operating base;
- Assist in rebuilding infrastructure damaged by the droughts and invest in water infrastructure;
- Implement sustainable agricultural practices and water conservation measures to prevent future crises;
- Divide the islands between Nouvelle Alexandrie and Çakaristan, re-establish order, good governance, and regional stability.
Contributing Forces
The mission is jointly led by Nouvelle Alexandrie and Çakaristan, with significant contributions from both nations in terms of personnel, resources, and expertise. Both nations are employing their own militaries as well as engaging other civil society and humanitarian organizations in the humanitarian effort such as the Red Sun Society, the Carrillo National Health System, the Imperial Constancian Humanitarian Council, and the Hammish Humanitarian Council.

There had long been relations between Çakaristan and The Hexarchy, mainly focused on economic cooperation. Relations had developed between several port cities that grew into sister cities. Especially since the end of the Sanpo-Çakar War, the government in Agra was working for stability in the Skerry region. For that reason, it also quickly occupied and claimed Lija, which had previously been under the flag of the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union. In 1726 AN, Çakaristan and Dromosker Island concluded the Treaty of Portpur, in which, among other things, joint guarding of waters was agreed.
After starting cooperation with Nouvelle Alexandrie, the Agra government put the focus on internal cooperation. A Sanpo naval vessel participated in the mission, and the reception of refugees in the Beneluccas and Lija was jointly taken up. Refugees were also transferred to Sanpantul to deal with the large number of refugees at Lija.
