Florent Lassana-Traoré is an Alexandrian-born former-footballer who last played for KPSK Isherwood in Gerenia. A tall, powerful goalscorer, Lassana-Traoré is one of Micras' most famed footballers, winning multiple international and club titles, and holding many scoring records.
Club career
Born in Alexandria, Lassana-Traoré's professional career began in Riponia in 2006, aged 22, when he joined Ripon City Magnets. The striker spent two years with the capital city side before becoming a free agent after the Riponian Premiership was dissolved upon the death of the nation. Lassana-Traoré subsequently sealed a move back to his homeland by joining newly-founded Club Imperiale in the summer of 2008, ahead of their first season. In four years at the club, Lassana-Traoré's goals helped the team to promotion to, and maintained their position in, the Alexandrian top flight.
Lassana-Traoré's domestic and international form—finishing as top scorer at the World Cup—leading up to the summer of 2012 created a surge of interest in the striker's transfer, with clubs from Craitland, North Antarctica and Hamland reportedly submitting bids to sign him. Despite Club Imperiale accepting a higher bid from Olympique Livingston, Lassana-Traoré ultimately agreed to move to CrFA League 1 outfit Osĵätoņ Aztecs FC for a fee of Cr 23 million, making the forward the then-seventh most expensive player in Micras history. Upon joining the Aztecs, the 28-year-old took the number 11 jersey.
Lassana-Traoré started his time in Craitland with a standout season. Linking-up with the squad ahead of the inaugural FMF Champions' League, he was a regular starter as the Aztecs won a first international title, but it was domestically where his impact was most felt. In the league's first 36-match schedule, Lassana-Traoré became the first player to register over twenty goals in a season, scoring 24 times. The Alexandrian's goals lifted the Aztecs from a lowly finish the previous year to being champions for the fourth time in their history at the end of the campaign.
In his second season, Lassana-Traoré's personal performances outshone those of the team's overall achievements. Despite another high-scoring league display, finishing as the division's third-top scorer with 19 goals, the striker could only help the club to fourth place. Competing on other fronts, he and the Aztecs were eliminated in the semi-finals of the EMUFA Champions' League by rivals Cherry Trees. Lassana-Traoré changed his role slightly, to that of a provider, in his third year in Craitland, as youngster Jan-Morteņ Juliaĵsen took the reins in scoring goals. The club finished in fifth and could only finish as runners-up in the 2015 Cities' Cup final, ith Lassana-Traoré scoring a consolation goal, but found silverware internationally, with the inaugural WMFA Cup being lifted.
Lassana-Traoré and Juliaĵsen's partnership continued into 2016, with the former helping the latter to 17 league goals as the Aztecs once again placed fifth. Yet again, the team found success in the WMFA Cup with dominant performances winning back-to-back titles, as Lassana-Traoré opened the scoring in the final. In the 2017 season, in which the Aztecs finished fourth, the 32-year-old Lassana-Traoré found himself playing a supporting role to more frequent starters Armand Diarra and Kali Kalani, but made his biggest contribution in the Cities' Cup final, where he scored the winner in extra time to lift a fourth different trophy with the Aztecs.
In the summer of 2017, Lassana-Traoré agreed a transfer to Gerenian League 1 side KPSK Isherwood, and moved for a fee of Cr 7 million. Once again handed the 11 shirt, Lassana-Traoré found himself as a squad player for "The Red Tide". Used to support Karl Brükner and Ábelder Arĵan, he was part of a very successful team that won its third league title and became the first Gerenian club to lift the AEFA Champions' League, winning the tournament after losing the previous year's final. To round-off the campaign, Lassana-Traoré played in the 2018 Champions' Cup as Isherwood earned a narrow win for a third trophy of 2018.
Lassana-Traoré's second season in Gerenia ultimately never came to fruition, as developments in the nation in late 2018 led to its demise and the domestic footballing setup collapsed. The club's only competitive fixtures came in the Champions' League, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals. With Gerenia dismantled, Lassana-Traoré announced his retirement in 2019 at the age of 35, ending his club career with multiple winner's medals earned all over Micras.
