Danilo Mannino is a Vegnese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Daau Super League club Daas City FC and Vegno national team.
Club career
Atletico Mhazar and Virtus Glovetese
Mannino started his professional football career in Vegno with the club of his home town, Mhazar, in the Atletico Mhazar. He played in the first ever edition of Lega A Vegnese in 2022 bringing home a series of top-level performances within his team. He starts on the pitch all matches of the season, always providing high-level performances, but never finding the way to the first goal.
However, he ends an excellent year, despite the team failing both in contending for the national title and in the cup, where it goes out in the semi-finals. He therefore ended his first and only season at Atletico Mhazar with 18 seasonal appearances and no goals, finishing the championship in third place 7 points from first place and out of international competitions, but winning the Lega A Awards for Best Midfielder of the season.
During the pre-season of the following season, many rumors see him close to other teams, with Mannino not even showing up for the pre-season retreat of Atletico Mhazar, which communicates his absence only later for health reasons. Behind this, according to the local press, lies the player's will to move to play in an international competition.
In September 2023, in fact, he finalized his passage to the rival team of his own city, the AS Virtus Glovetese reigning champion of Vegno, for a figure of 4.3 Cr. This brings him great hatred and contempt from his ex-Atletico fans, also making him the first footballer to cross directly from one side of the same city to the other.
The 2023 season begins, for Mannino, once again with excellent performances, which make him once again one of the best midfielders in the team and in the league together with his teammate Braccini.
He scored his first goal in the Lega A and in the new team on matchday 3 against Extremum FC, while the second of the season came on matchday 11, this time from a penalty, against Lamino FC, giving his team the win.
He also played in all AEFA Champions' League matches, also finding his first international goal against Kateki Blavisen FK, even if this did not prevent the team from defeat and a disappointing elimination in the group stage, due to the goal difference against Mineurs SF.
the championship ends with Mhazar's team in second place, after a disappointing second part of the season, where the team runs into numerous unforeseen defeats, which cost them the loss of the Vegno Champion title against the rival Atletico Mhazar team; in addition to the heavy disappointment in the championship, they also suffered defeat in the Bonfire Cup, where the team had reached the final thanks also to two goals from Mannino in the round of 16 and quarter-finals, only to be defeated on penalties by Sancrus FC.
He therefore concludes the season with 36 appearances, 5 goals and numerous assists.
Daas City FC
On 4th June 2023, because of the disappointing second place in the championship and the probable exclusion from international cups, he moved to the Dauian club Daas City FC for the record sum of Cr 8.5m, the biggest fee for a Vegnese footballer.
Mannino made his debut in a 7-0 thrashing of Catang Evergrande away from home, where he scored his first brace for the club. Playing as a striker, Danilo was soon subbed off for fellow countryman Adolfo Veronesi late in the second half. The attacking minded midfielder was converted into a second striker by the end of the 2023-24 season and became the club's starting second striker, sitting behind Dokite Akihisa and supporting the frontline. The injury of Akihisa at the start of the 2024-25 season meant that Mannino was their only striking option uptop, leading to his recent uproar in Daau.
International career

Danilo Mannino began his international career in 2022, receiving his first call-up from manager Agostino Conti, followed by Fortunato Bongiovanni, during the early friendly matches of the Vegno national football team. He made his official debut during the 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Cakaristan and scored his first international goal on February 22, 2023, against the Ecclesiastical Mountain Republic, also during the World Cup qualifiers. He played every match of the qualifiers, contributing two more goals and helping the national team finish first in Group A, securing direct qualification to the 2023 FMF World Cup.
He was included in the 23-man squad for the 2023 FMF World Cup in Mercury and made his tournament debut in Vegno’s opening match, a 2–1 win against Calbion. He ended the competition with 6 appearances and 0 goals, reaching the quarter-finals.
Mannino was also a starter in the 2024 FMF Confederations Cup, where he scored in the second match against the Sovereign Confederation. He played every game of the tournament, which concluded with a loss to Mercury in the Third place play-off.
He was selected among the 20 players for the 2024 Copa Apollonia, hosted by Vegno, and again featured in all of his team’s matches. However, he was unable to find the net in the competition. The tournament ended with a third-place finish, as Vegno defeated Meckelnburgh 1–0, earning their first podium placement in an international tournament.
He played a key role once again during the 2025 World Cup qualifiers, scoring twice in Group A and helping Vegno secure first place and direct qualification for the tournament hosted in Tellia.
Mannino was named in the 23-man squad for the 2025 FMF World Cup, where he scored his first goal in a World Cup during the second group match. His goal came in the 89th minute, sealing a 3–2 victory over host nation Tellia.
