Commission for War

The Commission for War is a subordinate body of the First Consul of Benacia, established under the Charter of the Union-State, with responsibility for the defence of the Benacian realms and their interests in the continental near-abroad.

The Commission comprises of an executive formed of the commissioner and his deputy commissioner, both appointed by the Congress of Chryse, and the civil legate for military and naval affairs, appointed by the commissioner. They are in turn supported by the Legatine College for Military and Naval Affairs, which provides the civil administrative staff of the commission and its subordinate agencies. It coordinates closely with the Benacian Security Council.

Before the establishment of the Consulate of the Benacian Union the Commission reported to the now defunct High Presidium of the Benacian Union.
