Vice-President of the Government of Nouvelle Alexandrie
The Vice-President of the Government of Nouvelle Alexandrie is a senior official of the Council of State of Nouvelle Alexandrie and the second highest ranking officer of the executive branch of the federal government.
The Proclamation of Punta Santiago establishes the office of Vice President, using the term "Vice-Premier" for short, in Chapter 5, Article 41. In the event that the President is unavailable or incapacitated, the Vice-President represent the Premier and may deputise for them.
The office was established upon the signing of the Proclamation of Punta Santiago in 1685 AN. Its first holder was the Interim Vice-President Vicaquirao Alvarez, appointed in a transitional capacity by the King of the Federation, Manco Cápac. The current holder is Felipe de la Vega (FHP), serving since 1719 AN.

Office
The official residence of the Vice-President is in the Government House in Cárdenas. It is located directly adjacent to the Presidential office, albeit it slightly smaller.
Historically, the Vice-President has also held a Ministerial office: Seydlitz was concurrently Minister of Interior; Franco held the Department of Social Security and National Solidarity. There is no legal basis to prevent this practice, and often, the position of Vice-President is seen as secondary to the Ministerial office. According to some legal experts, the position is a sinecure: its only purpose is to provide automatic succession in the event of a Presidential incapacitation.
