The sixth Llusan election after democracy was restored was again primarily contested between the Democratic League and the Alliance for Prosperity. The most transformative change going into the election was the merger of the Sanaman National Party with the United Nationalist Alliance, with the latter retaining its name and with certain leadership changes. The SNP voter base was expected to mostly be divided between the UNA and the Nationalist & Humanist Party. The former SNP leader and Chancellor, Yon Qusen, resigned from all political positions prior to the election, and was later during 1694 appointed consiljere of Faca Automotive Group. Prior to the election the political establishment had also been rocked by the Helthon Report, outlining the dysfunctional national government during cohabitation 1688–1691, recommending among other things the abolishment of the presidency and the reestablishment of a Senate. The report resulted in a referendum held concurrently with the election, outlining the various changes from the report. The Democratic League criticised the Nur Pinito Caprici government for a blatant power grab and a violation of the agreement to not alter the constitution for the forseeable future, with Keysa Nur Pinito Caprici expected to cling to power as Chancellor more or less indefinitely. The AfP defended its position in the referendum, saying that the reform would improve responsible government by streamlining the executive, removing constitutional ambiguities and conflicts, and clarifying the responsibility of the Chancellor and government. The Coalition 1660, hit hard in the 1691 election by the fallout from the Unified Governorates attempted coup d'etat by the UGB wing of the C60, was expected to at least partly bounce back. During the intervening years from the last election, the Llusan had also passed an amendment to the electoral code requiring all parties, even those included in an alliance, to gather at least five percent of the national vote, or 15 percent of the vote in a single electoral district, to get elected.

The Alliance for Prosperity increased their share of the popular vote and won for the first time an outright majority, made even larger by the 65 seat majority bonus. Both AfP parties increased their voter bases due to the merger of the Sanaman National Party into the United Nationalist Alliance. The N&H also changed name to the Democratic Humanist Party to distance itself from the UGB and Elwynn sister parties. While Coalition 1660 regained some of its support, the Sanaman Liberation Front lost several percentage points, largely due to the electorate not knowing what the party wants, besides replace Nur Pinito Caprici as Chancellor. The Passikaaner Belang and Laqi People's Party left the Llusan due to the new hard five percent threshold. The Yardistani List merged with the So Sara Alliance and increased their voter base enough to stay in the Llusan.
