The Cisamarra provincial election in 1679 was the second election to the Provincial Council. The Partito Popolare Cisamarrese remained in power with an increased majority. The party again fell short of the two-thirds majority that would allow them to amend the provincial constitution at will. Coalition 1660 was eliminated from the council due to the four percent threshold. Provincial party leader and Acquecalde strongman Gjanluigi Vinfetto secured his second term as provincial president.
