MRKBS Sonam-jedo Bangsong Chong-guk) is a regional broadcasting bureau of the Keopuchean Broadcasting System (KBS) in the territory of Syōnan Archipelago and it targets the entire territory and the surrounding area. It is located on the 6th Floor, Wisma Serambi Kuantan, The Settlement. The KBS Syōnan Archipelago Broadcasting Branch Office operates three local radio or community radio stations and one local television station in the Syōnan Archipelago.

Overview and history

The KBS Broadcasting Branch Office in Syōnan Archipelago came into being on May 2, -14BP, as a second KBS broadcasting station outside Phinbella under the KBS Offshore Broadcasting Bureau in Høkō, Shandānø'kaí, this office is located on the 6th Floor, Wisma Serambi Kuantan in The Settlement. At that time the role of KBS in the Syōnan Archipelago was to cover the events in the Syōnan Archipelago, and the recorded materials were sent to the Bureau and then sent to the then KBS headquarters in Tampines through the National Network (KBS 1Radio) and the Blue Network (now KBS 5FM). The opening of this broadcasting station also relays the National Network through AM frequency of 1080kHz with an output of 50W.

On April 20, -12BP, a transmitter station on Mount Trig that includes FM and TV was opened, and the National Network broadcasts on FM 90.1MHz as well as the national broadcasts of KBS TV on channel 12 were received in this archipelago. On April 9, -11BP, a local radio and TV trial broadcast was carried out that reached Sandakan Island and Bantam Island via the Mount Trig transmission station, and subsequently TV relay stations were built on Pang Island, Bidong Island, Io Island and Maeda Island.

On April 13, -8BP, Radio KBS Syōnan Archipelago was launched by the then Director General of KBS, Sir Noah Prescott Flischer, and it launched at 08:00 NAT with a medium wave (AM) frequency of 783kHz, a power output of 50W and a call sign of TQTS. The Radio KBS Syōnan Archipelago broadcast can be followed within 70 miles of The Settlement city center through AM broadcasts, and can even be heard throughout the Syōnan Archipelago and surrounding areas. Radio KBS Syōnan Archipelago is the third regional radio broadcast under the Shandānø'kaílander bureau after regional radio broadcasts in Sambas (now as a transmitting station) and Labuan. At that time, the broadcast of Radio KBS Syōnan Archipelago, which is now known as KBS Syōnan Archipelago 1Radio, aired every day for 5 hours from 06:00 to 09:00 NAT from 16:00 to 18:00 NAT.

The launch of Radio KBS Syōnan Archipelago (RKKS) has several important goals, among which are:

  • giving the community of the archipelago the opportunity to follow current developments more quickly.
  • encourage all parties to take the opportunity to further enhance more cohesive interactions towards mutual success.
  • encourage government departments to take the opportunity to increase their information dissemination through radio.
  • improve the relationship between pre-Phinbellan and Shandānø'kaílander government departments and agencies with the local community.
  • channel all information about government and public policies to the public.

Furthermore, on January 10, -7BP, the relay station located at Gunung Bates was opened with standard FM broadcasting on a frequency of 99.1 MHz with a power output of one kilowatts. And then a relay station on Bidong Island was also opened on 16 September -7BP with a standard FM frequency of 103.7 MHz with a power output of ten kilowatts.

On 20 September -4BP, the local broadcast of KBS 1TV in the Syōnan Archipelago (also as a mobile production station) was officially launched by Dato' Edward Matunjili, Minister of Information of the Kingdom of Shandānø'kaí. Area of operation is only in the Syōnan Archipelago and its surroundings. This local broadcast is broadcast from Mount Trig, and it airs in the morning from 08:00 to 11:00 and in the afternoon from 18:00 to 20:00 NAT. The television broadcast studio is also located in the same guesthouse building as the radio station but it is located on the fourth floor. In -3BP, KBS 1TV Syōnan Archipelago implemented a local broadcast at the KBS (Transmission Sector) Maida transmitter by placing VTR equipment in the transmitter room. The broadcast is carried out every Wednesday and Saturday at 19.00 ~ 20.00 NAT, the cassette containing the program and news produced after being edited at Wisma Serambi Kuantan is taken by KBS staff to the location on Maida Island to be broadcast, and also sent to Gunung Trig.

On 19 June -3BP, KBS 2TV (at that time KBS TV2) broadcast from the KBS headquarters began broadcasting where it was transmitted from the transmitter station Gunung Trig (channel 20) and Maida (channel 16). Shortly thereafter, on October 21, KBS Syōnan Archipelago 1Radio broadcast could be received and broadcast simultaneously on standard FM (mono, not stereo) without any noise.

On April 13, RP 2600, the KBS FM Stereo broadcast was launched and began broadcasting, broadcast from Gunung Trig with an FM frequency of 90.1MHz to the entire Syōnan Archipelago and its surroundings with a power output of 500 kilowatts and the call sign TQTS-FM. This FM Stereo broadcast can be heard in Høkō and Sambas Collectivity in Shandānø'kaí, Bandar-e-Shahrezad-Mohameddin, Iswan, Pekan Farizan and Rey in Paminorshan Free State, Akuma-jima Islands and the northeastern border area and some remote islands in Desaremix. The broadcast aired at 10:00 to 19:00 NAT at that time. At the same time, the power output at Mount Bates was increased from one kilowatt to three kilowatts. Meanwhile, KBS 2Radio broadcasts began broadcasting when the KBS 2Radio Maida transmitter station was opened. On September 20, RP 2600, stereo broadcasting of KBS 1Radio FM Standard began broadcasting.

In line with the start of digital television in Shandānø'kaí, digital TV broadcasts were first transmitted across the Syōnan Archipelago on January 22, RP 2610. On November 17, RP 2610, the relay station on Pulau Pasir Barat was officially opened.

On February 8, RP 2611, the Syōnan Archipelago (Song side) remote control integrated operation was implemented.
