The Walstadt-Light national football team is the football team which currently represents the Aemilian autonomous region of Walstadt-Light, and previously represented the Natopian autonomous territory of the same name. It is a member of the CTFA, and is run by the Fürst-Heinrich-Stiftung. The team is the official successor of Whales, Kujirashi-Wahlstadt, Walstadt and Kujirashi-Walstadt, and is the official predecessor of Greater Walstadt.
History
The team was founded in late 2015 after Walstadt-Light was founded as the successor state to the Natopian autonomous territory of Kujirashi-Walstadt, itself the successor of Walstadt. As Walstadt, the team competed in the 2014 qualifiers, losing all their matches, before gaining four points the following year under the name of Kujirashi-Walstadt. In early 2016, Walstadt-Light left Micras after being succeeded by Greater Walstadt with the national team having played no FMF-affiliated matches.
Walstadt-Light returned to the FMF in mid-2025 after being reëstablished as the successor to Whales as an autonomous region of Aemilia, following its annexation from Natopia. Following its initial membership, the team was chronologically known as Greater Walstadt, the Two Martyrs and Whales. They were competitively unsuccessful in their annual qualifying campaigns during this period, finishing bottom of their group on every occasion barring 2016, 2021, 2023 and 2025, with such poor records that meant they were eligible to compete in three Emerging Nations Cups, winning both the 2020 and 2022 editions.
