The Pontecorvo Firm is the largest military shipbuilding company in Nouvelle Alexandrie, as well as a provider of professional services to partners in government and industry.The Pontecorvo Firm comprises of four divisions: Pontecorvo Shipbuilding, Rothborne Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries, Aldurian Shipbuilding Corporation, and Pontecorvo Technical Solutions.
Headquartered in Pontecorvo, Alduria, Nouvelle Alexandrie, the Pontecorvo Firm specializes in the design, construction, and maintenance of naval and commercial vessels, as well as marine infrastructure, defense technology, and IT solutions. The company's shipbuilding divisions have built the most ships in all ship classes for the Federal Navy of Nouvelle Alexandrie more than any other New Alexandrian naval shipbuilder.
The Pontecorvo Firm is one of Nouvelle Alexandrie's largest employers and maintains almost all of the largest shipbuilding complexes in the Federation. The company employs over 90,000 people, as of 1715 AN.
History
Founded in 1676 AN, the Pontecorvo Firm originated as a small, local operation in the city of Pontecorvo, Alduria. Initially, the firm focused on modest projects, such as constructing and repairing small naval vessels for the local government. The founder, Giuseppe Cholmondeley, was a skilled craftsman and engineer with a vision to build a company that would one day become a leader in the shipbuilding industry. Over time, Giuseppe's relentless dedication to craftsmanship and innovation led to the steady growth of the company. By the turn of the century, the Pontecorvo Firm had expanded its capabilities and expertise, transforming from a small shipyard into the largest shipbuilding complex in the city. The company, now known as Pontecorvo Shipbuilding, became renowned for its high-quality naval vessels, which were sought after by governments and private entities alike.
In 1681 AN, the company entered a pivotal phase. The Velez government in the then-independent Republic of Alduria initiated a series of privatization programs, creating an opportunity for Pontecorvo Shipbuilding to further expand its operations. Seeing the potential for growth, the company seized the opportunity and purchased the Aldurian Shipbuilding Corporation (ASC), gaining control over its vast commercial shipbuilding operation in the city of Alkhiva. This acquisition significantly expanded the company's capacity, positioning it as a key player in the industry.
Following the acquisition of the ASC, the Pontecorvo Firm announced plans to branch out and revive military shipbuilding. A new division was established in 1685 AN, aiming to capitalize on the company's expanded capabilities and meet the rising demand for advanced military vessels.
The company reached a significant milestone in 1684 AN when it was commissioned by the Aldurian Department of Defense to build Alduria's first aircraft carrier. Alongside this ambitious project, the company was also contracted to construct a range of other military vessels, including destroyers, frigates, and attack submarines. Despite the initial excitement surrounding the aircraft carrier project, it drew criticism for its astronomical costs and eventually fell victim to political instability, being canceled following the 1685 Aldurian coup d'état.
Despite this setback, the Pontecorvo Firm did not lose momentum. Following the establishment of Nouvelle Alexandrie in 1685 AN, the company experienced an unprecedented period of growth. The new country, along with other Raspur Pact partners, placed large orders for surface combatants and other ships, catapulting the Pontecorvo Firm to the forefront of the shipbuilding industry. Since 1700 AN, the company has built and expanded its professional and government services through the acquisitions of several smaller companies and shipbuilders throughout the country.Today, the company stands as one of the largest shipbuilders in Nouvelle Alexandrie, a testament to its resilience, ingenuity, and commitment to excellence.

Notable Projects
