The coronation of Empress Clara is scheduled to take place in early 1753 AN at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Sacred Calf (The Ruined Cathedral) in Lindstrom, following the conclusion of the official mourning period for Empress Vadoma I. Empress Clara acceded to the throne on 20.XII.1752 AN upon the death of her mother after serving as Regent of Natopia since V.1752 AN.

The ceremony will be the first imperial coronation in Natopia since the coronation of Vadoma I and Edward I in 1717 AN, which marked the reunification of the empire following the Division of the Natopian Empire. Under the constitution, the Pentheros of the Dozan Bovic Church must officiate the coronation and confer Bous' divine approval upon the new sovereign. During the ceremony, Clara will swear the constitutional oath to maintain, expand, and protect the Natopian Nation and the Dozan Bovic Church.

The coronation presents several unprecedented elements in Natopian history. Clara is the first sovereign to be crowned while simultaneously serving as Queen consort of another major power, Nouvelle Alexandrie, where her husband Sinchi Roca II reigns as King. The Treaty of Dynastic Separation of 1721 AN ensures the two crowns will remain separate in the next generation: Crown Princess Sayari will inherit Nouvelle Alexandrie while Prince Nathan will inherit Natopia. The coronation will also be the first held under the reformed constitution following the 1751 constitutional referendum that established the bicameral Frenzy.

Clara took the regnal name Clara upon her accession to honor her great-aunt Clara Sundara Waffel-Paine, who served as Chancellor of Natopia and earned a reputation for judicial temperament and stabilizing influence during Drak-Modan's constitutional transitions. The choice signaled her intention to serve as a steady, constitutional monarch following a period of political turbulence marked by the Natopian Withdrawal from Whales, the Universal Compact, the Fourth Euran War, and the constitutional reforms.
