Hi everyone, this is Ric, your usual chairman for the Fnord Awards. We're about to look for the 2020 Fnord awards, for any work or event that occurred in the year of 2021. As usual, we'll announce the winners on Fnord Day (January 8, 2022), which in the calendar of Norton would be the 1704th year of the anniversary of the death of Emperor Norton. Ric (talk) 15:49, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

New and unique for this year's events, is that we'll announce it all as part of the Expo 1703 closing ceremonies! So exciting! Ric (talk) 15:49, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

Overall Achievement

  • Mondo/Rossheim, for returning, and reminding us of all the cultural work done over nearly two decades of micronational career! Ric (talk) 16:35, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
Seconded. Craitman (talk) 00:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Conflict Resolution

Best Revolutionary Concept

  • "I'd like to nominate the Council of Negrixnaht for revolutionary concept. I think it fits the bill since the old religions seem to have stagnated, and even in their heyday (from what I gather) were limited to a handful of individuals contributing largely independently of one another. The exercise of dusting off the classics and getting interested parties together to trim the fat and make better sense of it doesn't appear to have been tried before (at least not on the scale of an entire religion, likely because Discord make the task much more manageable)." – Anonymous, sent to Ric over PM – Ric (talk) 17:45, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

Cultural Development

  • Ardy, for all the work related to the Second Elwynnese Civil War and its aftermath. Ric (talk) 16:57, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
    • Nomination declined as on panel Continuator (talk) 20:53, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Edgard, for all the work with Nouvelle Alexandrie, this sector's only real political simulation, and making it all work on a Discord channel too! Impressive. Ric (talk) 16:54, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Malliki, for the work on the Sanaman Civil War and its aftermath. Ric (talk) 16:57, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
Seconded. Craitman (talk) 00:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
  • User:Octavius, for all the work on Shireroth, Laqs, reorganization and the way Shireroth is becoming an emerging power once again. Ric (talk) 16:52, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

History

Journalism

Literature

Best New Micronation

Best New Micronationalist

  • Neil Watts, I think he's new tho! Lots of interesting side stories/quests and interactions with Akhidia and, surprisingly, Mondo. Ric (talk) 16:43, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
Seconded. Craitman (talk) 00:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

'Tis But a Flesh Wound

  • Goetia, for being removed, then coming back, then being removed, and so on... You just can't get rid of those demons. Ric (talk) 16:53, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Nick <3. Ric (talk) 16:49, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Lac Glacei. Essentially 15 years since it last appeared on Micras, to then return and claim more land than in its heyday is quite an impressive refusing-to-die feat! Craitman (talk) 00:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Sport

  • Surely it's about time the FMF finally won a Fnord! The nomination for the restructure of the Champions' Leagues and for hosting a major international sporting event in the year it was originally scheduled for. Joe (talk) 20:00, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Placeholder for whatever other sports related crap someone can come up with before year end to prevent the FMF from default winning. Malliki (talk) 01:29, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

Art

  • James, for nice art relating to Meckelnburgh and Port Balaine. Ric (talk) 16:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Jonas, for all the stuff in Jingdao/Apollonian Empire, such as the currency, posters, propaganda, etc. Ric (talk) 16:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Mondo, for freaking Mondosphere flags. Ric (talk) 16:51, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

Cartography

Seconded. Craitman (talk) 00:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Bijaro, for beautiful projections of our shared planet Micras Ric (talk) 16:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • James, for lovely maps of Meckelnburgh and Port Balaine Ric (talk) 16:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Malliki, for all the continued Sanaman maps Ric (talk) 16:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

Diplomacy

  • Malliki, for reviving the lost art of contacting people in order to negotiate mutual, formally drafted, agreements between states. - Ardy

It ain't much, but it's honest work

I propose this new category for pixel-wise small nations that have a decent quality output throughout the year. I will look for nominees. I'm not self-nominating. -Razzy Or perhaps besides nations also other projects that are quite modest but well maintained. Rasmus (talk) 09:09, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

  • Highpass: well developed small nation, one of only two on Micras that is landlocked.
  • Sankt Ludwigshafen: I appreciate a nation that finds its reason to be in being small and what that entails, instead of the usual "let's blob as much as possible". Malliki (talk) 09:41, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
