Arboria-Senyan relations refer to the existing relationship between the Principality of Arboria, a demesne of the Bovic Empire of the Natopian Nation, and the Democratic Environmental Society of Senya.

In light of the Recession of 1737, representations were made to establish an Arboria-Senya Cooperation Council, to improve cooperation, coordination, and partnerships, as well as to improve efficiencies and understanding between the two. Comprised of panels from both parties, themselves composed of public officials and private sectors partners, this was the beginning of a people-to-people synergy.

Arborian-Senyan Railway

Initial discussions began on 1.XI.1597 [1] with the proposal of constructing a rail link into Tirlar from the Senyan capital, Svorgas. The line would be a high speed rail link going from Tirlar, calling at the city of Meiridosa, crossing the Senyan border, before stopping at Dyas and on into Svorgas. Arboria was at the time under Elwynn sovereignty.

A jointly awarded contract for the construction of a rail link between the two territories was deemed acceptable to the government of the Union State, utilizing the Standard Senyan Railway (Stephenson) gauge of 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in). Initial plans also considered a Senya-Tirlar-Gotzborg railway line, as well as a proposed communications infrastructure consortium which would also include Hawshire-Dura, Gotzborg and Craitland.

The XI.1598 Redrift Report of Senyan MP Peter Redrift provided the following recommendations:

  • The Senyan government enables high speed passanger and freight rail routes, complete with overhead wires, to connect to Shireroth, Elwynn, Gotzborg and Craitland, with a meeting held between officials of each country to be held in Tirlar City about the matter.
  • Enable a dedicated zone of free-travel in the 5 states, enabling commuter access to all cities
  • Setting up dedicated ferry services to bring cargo to and from Dura to trade with Senya.
  • Opening up the land north-west of Dyas as international-land, operated by Senya, Elwynn and Shireroth to enable access.
  • Respecting the Rights of the River Warriors by not building in Rivorian territory.
  • Claiming the land north of Senya and south of Gotzborg as international-land, controlled by Senya, Gotzborg and Elwynn.

In 13.XII.1650 [2] further discussions on a Trans-Arborian railroad were discussed, with a proposed three lines: An express line from Svorgas to Nevaya, which would cross Arboria at Ol'ash, with a more touristy train running from Duilne Doras to Nevaya (either entirely through Arboria or via the Northern Senyan cities of Dyas and Eprat), with a third train running from Duilne Doras to Colgrad on the shores of Lake Lamantia.

As of XII.1669, the Senyan government reported that they currently had a full functioning and electrified line up to the town of Bordelor, which is located on the border, around halfway between the cities of Meiridosa in Arboria and Dyas in Northwestern Senya. The Senyan government also expressed interest in a treaty that would directly deal with management of the shared border, given that the border of Senya with Jingdao is currently closed (and has been since the onset of the War of Lost Brothers), alongside acknowledgement that the border of Senya with Natopia is of great significance, hence the wish to establish formalities, including regulations on customs, to facilitate trade between the two nations.

Further studies were conducted between and among both parties, and it formally became a priority of the Arborian government effective 1688. On 4 Konil 1690, a Bill [3] was introduced in the Natopian Frenzy, authorizing the Princess of Arboria and the Arborian Government to directly negotiate with the Senyan government, in compliance with Chapter XI, Section 2 of the Caprine Code, and was duly approved.

On 12 Konil 1696, a Decree of the Princess of Arboria in Council designated the southern part of Northern Arboria as the Mirkdale Peninsula, and established the Mirkdale Peninsula Development Authority, with powers to collect revenues, maintain roads, waterways, byways, public lands, public utilities, uphold domestic order, and cooperate with all Demesne Union, Principality, and Imperial public authorities.

Alongside the reinvigoration of transport infrastructure in the Principality of Arboria by the incorporation of the West Natopian Shipping Corporation on III.13.1704, the Transegale Railway Corporation on III.14.1704, the Arboria del Sur Railway Corporation on III.15.1704, and the Mar Sara Railway Corporation on III.15.1704, the Northern Arboria Railway Corporation was incorporated to finally bring this project into fruition on III.16.1704.
