The 2022 Phinbellan presidential election or 2618 Phinbellan presidential election (Phineaner: Pilihanraya Presiden Phinbella 2618; Taesongean: 2618년 핀벨라의 대통령 선거; RR2618-nyeon Phinbella-ui Daetongnyeong Seon-geo) is a sixth Phinbellan presidential election, it is scheduled to be held in Phinbella on 3 February RP 2618. It will be the second presidential election since the provisional government was dissolved in RP 2615. Under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Phinbella, the president is limited to one term of eighteen months, which means its incumbent, Mat Fenian Sheares is not eligible to run in this election for a second term after being elected unopposed.

Background

The President is the head of state of the Supranational State of the Federal Republic of Phinbella. According to the constitution, his position is largely ceremonial. During the provisional government, the election of the president was based on votes by parliament, although shifting from a presidential republic to a parliamentary republic, and subsequently shifting to a presidential republic. Since the provisional government was dissolved, Phinbella has been a parliamentary republic.

The president is elected through a round of popularity voting system, and he is elected by universal suffrage even if reserved for certain groups. The president serves eighteen months for one term, and is not eligible for re-electing either directly or indirectly.

There are strict requirements for candidates, the fullness of candidates for eligibility or otherwise will be decided by the Phinbellan Election Commission.

18 December Former PFLA member representing the highland aboriginal constituency, Mat Amen Tokiwahtun, announced his candidacy as president, he said during a visit to a flood evacuation center in Runchang, Kota Hilir.
21 December The president of the Toromuan People's Association, Danny Eric Mat Joh, agreed with his followers' desire to be president, so he announced his candidacy as president from the Phinbellan Aborigines-Proto Phineaners.
22 December Lee Mi-hyeon and Hee Min-cheul, both former coaches of the Phinbellan Boer Super Reds, have announced their candidacies
25 December Aedy Angpeu Dae Hong-seok is expected to run for president candidacy according to his wife. He had been president of the provisional government for a month, yet they were not sure he was among the Taesongean or Greenlandic Martians
28 December A tokbatin from among the Hontokunians from Kampung Serasat, Maritime Kachi Kochi, Muhammad Jack Yahya has announced his candidacy.

Former Public Works Minister Yoo Min-kyu declined to run, but in the future, he has a chance to run.

30 December The incumbent, Mat Fenian Sheares, said that he may no longer hold the post for a second term, as he felt he was simply holding the post without contesting.

4 January Dae Hong-seok announced to decline to run, as he thought the post provided an opportunity for leadership from the Aboriginal community
5 January A former MP representing the lowland aboriginal constituency, Muhammad Furkorn Mat Jeen from among the Toromuan tribe announced his candidacy as president.

Lee Mi-hyeon was revealed she would not be eligible to contest.

8 January Issuance of Election Writ, with candidate nomination day and polling day set for January 20 and February 3, respectively.

10 January Phinbellan Social Democratic Party general secretary Kyu Ho-min and former opposition member Go Hyu-jin refused to run for president.
12 January Mat Amin Tokiwahtun and Muhammad Jack Yahya each collected eligibility forms for the presidency. Former Senior Minister Eduardo van Huizen refused to run for president during the Phinbellan new year open house in the Negara Awan.
13 January Former Prime Minister of the Free area of the Federation and Chairman of the Federation Press, Karrimoon a/l Yazeet announced the nomination.
15 January Furkorn has submitted an eligibility form
16 January Danny Eric has submitted an eligibility form, and Karrimoon Yazeet was the last to submit the form at 17:54 NAT/19:14 PPT.

At 21:00 NAT/22:20 PPT, the Phinbellan Election Commission has announced that it has announced the candidates who have been eligible to contest in the presidential election namely Mat Amen Tokiwahtun, Danny Eric Mat Joh, Muhammad Jack Yahya, Muhammad Furkorn Mat Jeen and Karrimoon a/l Yazeet, they were also given a certificate of eligibility. All five candidates have met certain criteria through the Article on the President in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Phinbella. Danny and Jack are also satisfied with the criteria in the Article.
