The Sanama general election of 1679 took place on 12.X.1679. Voters elected assemblies in local authorities, cantons, provinces, the Federal Assembly and the newly established position of President. The people elected Keysa Nur Pinito Caprici President of Sanama with 54 percent of the vote.
Keysa Nur Pinito Caprici managed to get elected in the first round since the United Nationalist Alliance, Sanaman National Party, Northern League and Partito Popolare Cisamarrese all nominated her for the position. As the candidate for a united center-right she stood against a fractured opposition, with the Sanaman Liberation Front, Coalition 1660 and the Green Alliance all fielding separate candidates. The Nationalist & Humanist Party declined to field a candidate, a move seen as passive support for Caprici. The Green Alliance candidate vastly outperformed his party in the Lhusan election, where they failed to reach the five percent threshold.
