Greater Floria

The accepted 'claimsmap' of Florian Ultranationalists.

Greater Floria was a controversial term to describe Floria, which fully claimed as much 'green' as possible comprising 13 states and territories. The term was an objective that some Florian nationalists strived for since the War of Lost Brothers regardless of the amount of bloodshed and financial costs. It claimed land which included those territories ceded to Jingdao, now ruled by Shireroth, and to Natopia in consequence of the war. It even claimed territories which had never belonged to Floria, like Hondon Province, Liao Province and the Çakari city of Fatehpur. From 1723 to the assassination of President Chopin, the Florian government attempted to make the term not to be taken seriously.

The Greater Floria ideology was responsible for the invasion of Port Balaine which brought international sanctions to Floria for the first time since the War of Lost Brothers. However, the claim of the formally independent nation was discovered not to be linked to the 'Greater Floria' ideology despite being clearly shown on the accepted claimsmap. The suspension of such ideology being used in such a conflict subsequently led to the ideology eventually being designated as fascist and federally banned.

The term is (according to Florian propaganda historians) now regularly confused by foreign nations with tweets about the general morale of the Florian nation. It can however not hide that Florian aggression led to the souring of relations with Shireroth and Natopia, for example. Claimed areas such as the Florian Free State have now been deeply integrated more into Natopia, effectively killing any chance of reunification.

Under President Hutchinson, committed that the Federal Government was happy with its current territorial claim and did not seek to reclaim lost original territory. This was further supported by the SDP Chairwoman, Rachael Adams in 1740 AN with both parties willing to reestablish ties with Shireroth and Natopia. The announcement was welcomed in Shireroth, where the long war with the Benacian Union had led to a more lenient stance towards Floria.

In 1722 AN, a tweet of Florian president Isabelle Chopin created an outrage in Shireroth, especially among the population of the Greater Kildarian Dominions:

"It is clear why the SDP is no longer in charge of our nation. They lacked the vision to take Floria forward and inevitably failed in their bid to fully remove sanctions from our successful mission in creating a Greater Floria".

The tweet by the sitting president was seen as a provocation and intent to further claim territories of its respective Raspur Pact allies, Shireroth and Natopia. The Thuylemans Government in Shireroth condemned the tweet and Minister Li described it as "either foolish, or aggressive. But given the track record of the Florians, most likely both". The Natopian government similarly condemned the tweet, with a Court of Vista de Nada spokesperson stating "surely this must be the usual Florian bloviation, but it is all the more concerning coming directly from their President". Natopia stated that it will review and reconsider its ties to Floria in light of the tweet.

Florian officials were quick to deny the allegations of aggression, especially towards another member of the Raspur Pact branding the allegations ridiculous and the tweet was simply just demoralising a major opposition party within Floria's borders.
