Following the suicide, on 14.I.1717, of his older brother, who was acting as Stadtholder since the [[1716 Ludwiggian Restoration]], Hans Schafenweide was appointed ''ad interim'' Stadtholder of Sankt Ludwigshafen by the Stadtparlement. He was responsible for instigating the [[1717 Military Reorganisation in Sankt Ludwigshafen]]. Hans Schafenweide (née Annabelle Schafenweide) was a politician born in Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen in Sankt Ludwigshafen, (Altstadt as of 1734) in 1692. He is the younger brother of Simon Schafenweide and the son of Ludwig Schafenweide. Following the suicide, on 14.I.1717, of his older brother, who was acting as Stadtholder since the 1716 Ludwiggian Restoration, Hans Schafenweide was appointed ad interim Stadtholder of Sankt Ludwigshafen by the Stadtparlement.
