Gray Rechter was a diplomat who was the secretary-general of the Micras Treaty Organisation, from early 1731 until her death after an armed robbery in 1734. Before that she was an ambassador of the Confoederatio Aemilia to the Realms held in right by the Order of the Holy Lakes, also known as Hurmu.

Early life

Gray Rechter was born in 11.XII.1690, she was assigned male at birth and publicly presented as male until 1730 AN. In 1690, the diary of Ludwig of Walstadt was discovered in Sankt Ludwigshafen, which resulted in a mass conversion to the Ludwiggian Reformed Church. Hans Rechter and Loïs Rettich were no exceptions and raised their seven sons and daughters in this faith. Gray's adolescence years were marked by the rise of the Lanzerwald Republic, and the rise of religious fanatism, she herself became active in proselytization efforts sponsored by the state. After the Realm of the Sovereign Lanzerwald was established in 1715, Gray Rechter became part of a group of zealots that tore down the railways and other signs of modernity. The 1716 Ludwiggian Restoration brought an end to the influence of religious fanaticism in the Lanzerwald and Gray Rechter fled to Hurmu to avoid prosecution.

Political career and adult life

On 11.IV.1731, Gray Rechter got married to her childhood friend Theodor Katzenfreund

In 1723, Rechter returned to Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen, which had then already been renamed to Altstadt to bury her father who had died after a short sickbed. Gray toured the Confoederatio Aemilia, which had replaced the Sankt Ludwigshafen and Lanzerwald republics and came in contact with a clerk from the Aemilian chancellery, who introduced her to the chancellor of the confederation, Charlène Jolicoeur-Schafenweide. To her surprise, the chancellor asked her to represent the Confoederatio Aemilia in Hurmu, an offer she quickly accepted. One of the key objectives of her mission to Hurmu was to put pressure on the government in Huyenkula to improve the situation for LGBTQIA+ people in Phinbella. For her work, Rechter had to meet with marginalised communities in Hurmu, such as the Yapreayan people. In intense discussions with these people, Rechter started to realise her own transgender identity and she began medically transitioning following the codification of LGBTQIA+ rights in Phinbella in VII.1729. With support from Princess Emilia Antoinette, Rechter started her social transition in early 1730. In XIII.1730, Gray Rechter was nominated by Princess Emilia Antoinette to become the new secretary-general of the Micras Treaty Organisation. With support from Aemilia, Çakaristan, Floria, Hurmu and Sanama, and no opposition, this bid was accepted.

On 11.IV.1731, Gray Rechter got married to her childhood friend Theodor Katzenfreund. Due to Theodor's membership in the Order of the Holy Lakes she thus became a Hurmu citizen and Lady of the Holy Lakes.

On 16.V.1734 Gray Rechter was badly injured in an armed robbery in Huyenkula in Hurmu, Hans Schafenweide, with whom she had had dinner at a downtown restaurant was killed in the attack. Almost half a year later, on 13.XI.1734, she died in her sleep in her house in Altstadt. An autopsy revealed that her death was likely to have been related to the injuries sustained during the robbery.
