The Nü Krantisk Repüblik (NKR; Crandish for "new Crandish republic") is the state unilaterally proclaimed by the Nü Krantisk Rapskaff on 4.V.1753 AN in Arminsburg during the NKR insurrection. The state is thus in active and violent rebellion against Lac Glacei.
History
Background
The ideological foundations of the Nü Krantisk Repüblik lie in the late-18th-century radicalisation of Crandish nationalist thought following the Karmic Collapse of 1744. NKR ideology rejected pluralism, constitutional governance, and federal compromise, instead advocating a unified Crandish political order grounded in cultural homogeneity, discipline, and permanent mobilisation.
As NKR study groups displaced state authority across the western cantons in 1752 AN–1753 AN, parallel systems of governance emerged, including local courts, taxation mechanisms, and security forces. By mid 1753 AN, the movement exercised effective control over large areas without formal declaration of independence.
Proclamation
In late 1753 AN, the NKR leadership formally proclaimed the establishment of the Nü Krantisk Repüblik. The declaration asserted that Lac Glacei had “abandoned its responsibilities” toward the Crandish people and that sovereignty had therefore reverted to them.
The proclamation rejected the authority of Monte Glacei, declared Lac Glaceian law void within claimed territory, and instructed NKR study groups and cantonal committees to assume full administrative, judicial, and security functions.
Territorial claims
The Nü Krantisk Repüblik exerts control over the former Lac Glaceian cantons of:
- Anglien
- Balduvien
- Saksenlant
- Jutien
- Kloss
- Lorelei
- Heathersland
- Edelweiss
- Purple Isles
- Frankish Cognito (partially)
In addition, it asserts claims over Jorvik, Norsmandy, Eesdeheito, and Vaan Aujoen, despite the continued presence of Lac Glaceian administration and security forces in parts of those territories.
In the main areas, there remain, however, some pockets outside NKR control, in particular Gralan ethnic enclaves.
Government and politics
Political system
The republic is structured as a one-party revolutionary state under the exclusive authority of the Nü Krantisk Rapskaff. No elections have been held, and political opposition is both prohibited and persecuted.
Authority flows from the NKR Governing Board to cantonal committees and local study group commanders. These bodies exercise combined legislative, executive, and judicial powers, often through summary procedures.
Ideology
The official ideology of the Nü Krantisk Repüblik rejects pluralism, legal equality, and neutral administration. Political legitimacy is defined in civilisational and historical terms rather than popular consent. Violence is explicitly framed as a necessary instrument of national renewal.
Non-Crandish and non–Anglo-Saksen populations are excluded from the political community and are commonly described in official discourse as transient, decadent, or obstructive elements.
Security forces
The republic has no formal standing army. Armed force is exercised through NKR study groups, cantonal militias, and ad hoc security units operating under local commanders.
These forces control road networks, population movement, and border areas, and are responsible for internal security, counter-espionage, and enforcement of ideological conformity.
Human rights and repression
The Nü Krantisk Repüblik has been widely accused of systematic human rights abuses within claimed territory. Documented practices include:
- Enforced disappearances
- Extrajudicial executions
- Collective punishment
- Forced displacement
- Religious persecution
- Suppression of education and free expression
Non-Crandish minorities, including Hurmudans, Gralans, Lontinians, Glaceians, Mala'anje, and foreign nationals, have been disproportionately affected. Independent estimates suggest that more than one hundred individuals disappeared in NKR-controlled areas during 1753 AN alone.
Economy
The republic lacks a coherent national economy. State taxation has been replaced by "voluntary contributions" collected locally, often enforced through coercion. Property seized from displaced populations is redistributed to loyalists.
Economic activity relies on agricultural output, confiscated state resources, and informal trade networks. Foreign currencies, barter, and local scrip circulate in place of a stable national currency.
Foreign relations
The Nü Krantisk Repüblik is not recognised by any state or international organisation. Lac Glacei considers the entity illegitimate and continues to assert sovereignty over all claimed territory.
The republic’s actions have strained relations with neighbouring states, particularly Hurmu, following border shootings and refugee flows into Lontinien and Meckelnburgh. Diplomatic protests have been lodged, but no formal recognition or engagement has occurred.
