Saksenlant (officially the Kingdom of Saksenlant; Arminian: Saxenlond) is a former Crandish and Arminian duchy, now a kingdom within the Anglo-Saksen Commonwealth.
History
The Saksens are one of the oldest tribes on Apollonia and appeared as an early ally of Cranda. They took their name from the swords they carried, known as a seax. Originally a nomadic tribe located in modern Balduvien they warred with the Tatars of Lontinien who had settled to the north, pushing them to migrate south and taking control of the peninsular region of present Saksenlant. One of the first of the nomadic Crandish tribes to permanently settle, they soon spread their influence over much of the north. The early Saksen kings allied with the lords of Balduvien, Anglien and Kloss, then sending their warriors across the northern waters where they wrested control of the northeast away from the United Imperium and resettled the area as the Anglo-Saxon Commonwealth. They became one of the greatest proponents of the Arminian Commonwealth and continued to play a vital role in it until the country collapsed, taking Saksenlant along with it. It wasn't until many centuries later that the Saksens were able to rally together again enough to form a cohesive kingdom.
