Jutien (officially the Kingdom of Jutien; Arminian: Ȝutye) is a former Crandish and Arminian duchy, now a kingdom within the Anglo-Saksen Commonwealth.
History
The Juttish tribes originated on Lyrica along with the Baldic and Hurmudan tribes. Primarily a seafaring nation, they warred on-and-off with the other Crandish (and later Anglo-Saksen) tribes. Their ships plied the entire coast of Lyrica and as far south as Jaris, northward along the Strait of Pearls all the way to Vaan Aujoen. Along with raiding they were also avid traders and were known for their rope. The rope, known as jute, became an important commodity and thus the tribe became known as the Jutts or Jutes. Eventually the Jutts were pushed out of Lyrica by Storish invaders and in turn invaded the United Imperium where the wrested away part of modern Lac Glacei. They were then pushed further north by constant wars with other tribes until eventually settling in present Jutien, pushing out the native Purple Islanders. Despite many other invaders over the intervening years, the Jutts have survived into modern times. Continuing their longstanding grudge with the Purple Islands, they joined the commonwealth and hashed out a permanent border with Lac Glacei. Although a mere shadow of their former glory, they remain a proud and independent people.
