Timeline of Lac Glacei

Prehistory

• 1 Million Years Ago: Lac Glacei valley formed by a combination of volcanic eruptions, tectonic shifting and glacial movements.
• 500,000 Years Ago: Neanderthals pass through Lac Glacei valley over what would later be known as the Occidental Road.
• 250,000 Years Ago: Ice Age ends and glacial caps melt, pooling at the valley floor to form Lac Glacei.
• 100,000 Years Ago: Paleolithic settlements appear in small numbers. Forest replaces the ice and dominates much of the thawed valley.
• 10,000 bAN: Apollonian explorers from Audentior explore the region but do not settle in the area.
• 5,000 bAN: Neanderthal settlements disappear and are replaced by modern humans. First large settlements appear around present-day Alpreaux.
• 2,500 bAN: Pre-Lac Glaceian civilization of Glaceiland appears around the Brigadoon area and conquers the lesser tribes in the valley.
• 2,000 bAN: Glaceilanders discover the Occidental Road and begin expanding beyond the valley.
• 1,500 bAN: Glaceilander expansionism halted by Cyberians to the south in Cognito.
• 1,000 bAN: Glaceiland devastated by plague. Population is reduced by nearly 30% and the civilization retreats to the valley.
• 500 bAN: Cyberians expand borders to the start of the Occidental Road. Glaceiland, still not fully recovered from the plague disaster, doesn't contest the move.
• 200 bAN: Pilgrims seeking to evade the plague found settlements to the far north of Glaceiland outside of the valley.

First millennium AN

• 1 Plague finally eliminated entirely in the valley. Population begins a rebound and soon repopulates the emptied cities.
• 100: Population becomes focused at cities and castles, while the forest and smaller villages remain the same.
• 300: Otto LeCrux proclaims himself Emperor and declares the first Empire of Glaceiland, extending his rule with the hand of the Imperial Army.
• 500: The LeCrux Dynasty expand Glaceiland to the northern shores, touching lands with what will eventually be known as Cranda.
• 600: Emperor Helmut LeCrux pushes the Cyberians out of the Occidental Road and back into Cognito.
• 650: Emperor Emmanuel LeCrux builds Fort Brigadoon to defend the Occidental Road.
• 700: Knights become prominent in the valley and begin construction of the many now-famous castles.
• 750: Pompous Emperor Josef LeCrux marches on Cognito and demands Cyberia surrender it. Cyberians refuse and assemble a massive army on the border. Josef withdraws admitting defeat.
• 800: LeCrux Dynasty collapses as cold war with Cyberia looms. The fall of the Imperial House only worsens tensions between Cyberia and Glaceiland.
• 802: Cyberian settlers from Cognito found Alpreaux and build a fort there.
• 900: Cyberians launch a full-scale invasion of Glaceiland and conquer it entirely. Glaceiland ceases to exist.
• 920: Glaceiland annexed to Cyberian Cognito as the single province of Cognito and Lac Glacei.
• 950: Alpreaux established as the Lac Glaceian seat of government.
• 960: Whitehall Riots occur. Cyberian troops raze Whitehall to the ground.
• 980: Gunpowder is introduced to Lac Glacei. Metalworkers quickly become proficient in the construction of muskets.

1000s

• First Renaissance occurs in Lac Glacei valley. Classical writers and artisans flock to the area for it's remoteness and picturesque scenery.

1100s

• 1195: Duchess Agatha Bomburg marries Lord Georg Titov. They would later be known as the founders of the Jacobian Dynasty.

1200s

• 1245 Sir Xavier Titov assumes position of Governor of Cognito and Lac Glacei. His popularity sparks the beginnings of the nationalist movement.
• 1295 Governor Francis Titov elected Chairman of the Imperialist Party, aimed primarily towards nationalists and conservatives.

1300s

• 1345: Jean Titov, Francis’ son, leads a radicalist movement pushing for extremist action against the Cyberian government.
• 1395: Imperial Party riots occur throughout Cognito and Lac Glacei. Nationalist favoritism rises nearly fifty-percent. The riot is bloodily put down by the Cyberian government.

1400s

• Composer Strassa completes his epic "Bifrost Dream", which becomes a classical music masterpiece

1430s

• 1435: Lac Glacei founded as an independent state

1440s

• 1447: Cognito and Lac Glacei merged as the United Imperium.

1460s

• 1463: United Imperium joins Tymaria
• 1468: Shireroth annexes the the United Imperium of Cognito and Lac Glacei and incorporates it into its Duchy of Jaris.

1480s

• 1483: Jacobus II becomes Count of Cognito and Lac Glacei
• 1488: Conglacio Geiteskrank named Governor of Lac Glacei and Cogito
• 1489: Zirandorthel declared Grand Duke of Lac Glacei

1490s

• 1490: Northfloating Treaty with Shireroth and Treesia signed; Lac Glacei becomes a condominium of Shireroth and Treesia. Conglacio Geiteskrank became Governor-General of Lac Glacei, while Zirandorthel retained the noble title of Grand Duke of Lac Glacei; this title was, however, purely honorary and was not intended to imply any authority to govern.
• 1493: Conglacio Geiteskrank named Baron of Lac Glacei.

1500s

• 1504: Lac Glacei merged with Elwynn to form the Barony of Elwynn and Lac Glacei. Conglacio Geiteskrank named first baron. Lac Glacei Liberation League founded.
• 1507: Ric Lyon (also known as Prince Andelarion, Rashid Arsalani, etc.) succeeds Conglacio Geiteskrank as baron.
• 1509: Ric Lyon upgraded to Duke of Elwynn. Lac Glacei reorganized to a county under Elwynn.

1510s

• 1510: Kaiseress Semisa I removes Lac Glacei from the Duchy of Elwynn and places it under direct imperial control.
• 1511: Centerflying Treaty signed by Grand Duke Orion I and Kaiseress Semisa I, guaranteeing Lac Glaceian sovereignty, and recognising Orion as the rightful Grand Duke of Lac Glacei.
• 1512: Lac Glacei supports Hurmu in protecting itself from a Storish invasion; in the end a diplomatic solution to Hurmu was found, whereby Hurmu became a condominium of the Grand Commonwealth and Stormark.
• 1519: Lac Glacei's government collapses. Period of Green begins.

1520s

• 1521: Jacobus Kahunamea Loki (son of Cyberian president Jacobus Kahunamea) becomes grand duke in exile.
• 1526: Jacobus Kahunamea resigns presidency, Jacobus Kahunamea Loki becomes president instead.
• 1527: Negotiations begin on letting Lac Glacei join the Federal Republic of Cyberia following a non-binding referendum among the diaspora. Merger

1540s

• 1542: The Anarch of Yardistan reorganises Lac Glacei as a bailiwick, and appoints Malliki Tosha to Bailiff.
• 1545: Malliki Tosha resigns as Bailiff of Lac Glacei.

1560s

• 1560: Count Ryan of Lac Glacei is inducted to the Order of the Dragon during the last act of Kaiser Aurangzeb before Aurangzeb's abdication, and then submits to Kaiser Leto III
• 1562: Lac Glacei is absorbed into the Shirerithian county of Florin Sara.

1680s

• 1685: Collapse of Stormark. Lands of Lac Glacei turned into the Green.
• 1689: Orion II proclaimed Grand Duke of Lac Glacei in Steigen (now renamed back to Ergo Sum), does not have much control however.

1690s

• 1693: Sovereignty reclaimed over historical lands.
• 1694: Sovereignty secured and internationally recognized. Relations entered into with Hurmu, condominium established over Seivannavik.
• 1695: Operation Underlord launched; amphibious invasion of Norsmandy completed within four days; islands annexed with limited autonomy as a forward naval base against piracy.
• 1696: Operation Maximus launched; Edelweiss liberated by force and Heathersland restored through negotiated capitulation.
• 1696: Operation Coeur begins; joint Lac Glacei–Hurmu offensive expands the Eesdeheito condominium northward with minimal resistance.
• 1697: Riel Expedition commences; Jorvik captured after naval bombardment and incorporated as a northern fortress and refueling hub.
• 1697: Heath Development Corporation begins amethyst mining investments in Eesdeheito following territorial stabilization.
• 1698: Riel Expedition establishes control over the Vaan Aujoen and the Purple Isles.
• 1698: Rielrar granted to Luis Riel as a personal fief; Monteriel founded; reconstruction of the Gralan star dock begins and space program announced.
• 1699: GARD completes pacification of the Vaan Aujoen; authority transferred to Klosson administration as an overseas territory.
• 1699: Line of Forts and Apollonian Express extension announced to secure overland trade with Meckelnburgh; joint construction agreed.

1700s

• 1700: Joint Lac Glacei–Meckelnburgh project launched to restore the Nurthaven–Antruusbuurg Canal.
• 1702: Kloss Proclamation issued; Lac Glacei reasserts claims under the Diet of the Clear Sea, occupies Kloss and northern Lorelei, ceremonially reclaims Arminsburg, and incorporates Kloss as the tenth canton.
• 1704: Lac Glacei intervenes in the Arboric Civil War following attacks on Hurmu; Arbor divided into occupation zones, with Lac Glacei administering Frankish Cognito pending later territorial reparations.
• 1705: Operation Rouge launched; GARD establishes the port and military base of Crecy, Rousilion, in Keltia to secure Strait of Pearls trade and support humanitarian operations during the Dark Berry Islands civil war.
• 1705: Mala'anje Repatriation Act passed; Mala'anje First Nation Territory established on most of Windsor Island with autonomous self-governance.
• 1707: Mala'anje resettlement begins on Windsor Island.
• 1708: Collapse of Jääland prompts GARD humanitarian deployment; canal and Jääland Bridge secured; region later incorporated into Meckelnburgh as Iselande.

1710s

• 1713: Grand Duke Orion II dies, son Augustin succeeds.

1750s

• 1750: Long-lasting prime minister Rupert Hinton (having served for 57 years since 1693) retires. His protégé Michel Maillard appointed instead.

• 1752: Lac Glacei gifts the Nurthaven and Antruusbuurg Canal to the United Kingdom of Meckelnburg. Later, the same year, Grand Duke Augustin dies. Son Alexandros Orion succeeds as Orion III.
