Seragaan United Football Club or commonly known as Seragaan United is a professional football club based in Seragaan, Daau. The club competes in the Daau Super League and plays its games in the Seragaan Union Sports Ground.

History

Seragaan United was founded on April 1st, 1979 under the leadership of Yasser Nassar. The club was first a member of the Dauian Amateur League before they obtained the license for a higher division. The club originally competed in the Dauian Lower League where they historically signed Power Forward and current head of youth Isaac Zainol. The club remained in the Dauian Lower League where they were champions for 2 seasons in a row before being invited to be promoted to the Daau Top League to fully professionalize ahead of the 2006-07 season. The club remained in the mid-table spot in the DTL for years to come and remained competitive in the Daau Super League.

The Blades were sadly relegated following 5 seasons in the top tier of Dauian football due to the lack of quality players and funding and was dropped down to the D-League where they again were relegated into another tier below. The club's deteriorating reputation in Dauian football drove investors away and led to the club officially self-relegating to the Lower League in the 2014-15 season of the D-League due to bankruptcy and other internal issues with the DAFA. Prior to liquidation the club would be purchased by Abdul Yahzen Buhari ahead of the 2015-16 season and promised to bring the club back to the very top.

The club achieved back-to-back promotions in a few seasons time as they went from bottom of the D-League to the top of the D-League and were promoted back to the top flight ahead of the 2022-23 season alongside new funding from the owners in order to solidify their place in the league. The Blades signed foreigners from Oportia and Craitland such as Caspar Laintens, Radu Preda, and Jaroslaw B. in pre-season to make sure they're in for a fair fight. The club would finish in a desired 6th place, well above the relegation zone, and declared it a successful season.

Ahead of the 2023-24 season, the club would hire Isaac Zainol as their new manager following the departure of Rafael Mendes. In his first senior season with a youthful Blades squad, Zainol achieved a 6th place finish, like last season, which bolstered the team's standing among the league. This success led to a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the club until 2026. His team embraced a consistent tiki-taka style of play that brought them success, enabling him to elevate several young talents. Notably, Syarin Abdulrahman, who joined mid-season from the DNTP program, quickly became a key contributor, leading both the team and league in assists for over five gameweeks. A dramatic 3-2 win against Daas City ended the Citizens' unbeaten run and allowed Daau United to secure the title on the last day, resulting in Seragaan United finishing 4th despite earlier setbacks in the Daau Youth Cup and FA Cup.

However, Zainol's tenure as first team manager of Seragaan United took an unexpected turn when he resigned ahead of the 2025–26 season. Reports surfaced indicating that DAFA had investigated potential corruption during his time with the Association, which led to a coaching suspension and ultimately his sudden departure. The Blades placed assistant manager Kharin Nizammudin as interim manager until January 2026.

Political ties

A historical symbol of high society and wealth among the Dauian-Matabese, The Blades have been long known as the upper-classmen's football side, with current owner Abdul Nassar also holding major shares in Nassar Holdings and as the acting CEO of Dauian space exploration firm SpaceNAS funnelling capital into the club through alleged donations through politicians. Dauian President Ismail Mokhtar is said to be a long time supporter of the Blades and has been seen at the VIP suites at the Seragaan Union Sports Ground. The club has also attracted investments from undisclosed Dauian politicians per whistleblower leaks, with former Dauian Sports Commitee vice-chairman Hajim Khee being one of the accused to be money laundering through his constant investments.

No official investigations have ever been conducted on the Blades and on the Nassar Holdings group

Rivalries

The Blades have 2 main rivalries, being the Capital Derby between them and Seragaan FC, and the Eastern derby between Seragaan United and Daau United. Other minor rivalries include the Blades-Bintang rivalry as Bintang is known as the people's club and oftentimes matches between the two end up in fiesty post-match events.

Capital Derby

The Capital Derby or Derbi Kapital in Dalay is the name given to matches between Seragaan FC and Seragaan United, both original teams from the capital city of Seragaan.
