The Oportian offensive in Constancian Vipia is a military operation launched by Oportia in IV.1745 AN as part of the broader Fourth Euran War. The offensive began when the Oportian garrison at Port d'Est, composed primarily of surplus Air Force and Naval personnel augmented by Home Guard, militia, and gendarmerie units, launched a local attack into Constancian Vipia to disrupt the momentum of the ongoing Constancian invasion of Oportia. The main thrust targeted Liondari, while a naval sortie of eight littoral combat ships supported by impressed commercial vessels attacked Fort Concord to disrupt command structures and pillage fuel and ammunition stores. The operation has seen the first reported combat destruction of an Oportian Lion 1 Main Battle Tank by a M1745 special munition, marking a significant development in the use of Alexandrium-enriched warheads in armored warfare.
Timeline
- IV.3: Sensing a local opportunity, the Oportian garrison on Port d'Est, mostly comprised of surplus Air Force and Naval personnel, augmented by Home Guard, militia, and gendarmerie, commenced a local offensive into Constancian Vipia in the hope of disrupting the momentum of the Constancia invasion commenced in the previous month. The main axis of the assault would be towards Liondari, with a naval sortie by eight littoral combat ships supported by impressed commercial vessels against Fort Concord intended to disrupt command and control, as well as to pillage fuel stores and munitions by putting raiding parties ashore.
- IV.4: Naval assets of the Surenid Forces of the Home Guard sortied from Kara in response to the Oportian sortie from Port d'Est. Shahzadeh-class frigates (20), Mirza-class corvettes (6), and Sardar-class patrol vessels (12) sailed directly for Fort Concord.
- Upon detecting the Surenid naval sortie from Kara, Commodore Joseph Fouche personally assumes command of "Operation Tidal Strike," deploying the submarines OFS Veiled Storm and OFS Phantom Deep to conduct torpedo attacks on the Surenid fleet while the Port d'Est garrison accelerates its advance toward Liondari to present the enemy with a two-front naval engagement.
- IV.5: After some difficulties with the Raspurid and Surenid officer corps, Shanene Hadewych was able to reassert full operational control over the Eastern Eura Army Group and direct it towards the defence of Constancian Vipia.
- As Shanene Hadewych reasserts control over the Eastern Eura Army Group, Oportian intelligence operatives activate "Network Blackout," a cyber warfare campaign targeting Constancian communication systems, while the Department of Internal Security deploys "false flag" operations using captured Constancian uniforms to sow confusion among enemy command structures.
- IV.6: Defence of Liondari sees the first reported instance of a Lion 1 Main Battle Tank in Oportian service being knocked out by a M1745 special munition in combat conditions. Anti-tank teams of the Imperial Constancian Guard were reportedly being deployed to locations where the Lion MBTs of the enemy were known to be active - with their destruction being a priority for the use of the limited quantity of fantastically expensive Alexandrium-enriched warheads.
- Following the destruction of the first Lion 1 Main Battle Tank by M1745 special munition, the NSC immediately implements "Protocol Titanium Shield," ordering all armored units to operate in dispersed formations with constant movement patterns, while authorizing the Oportian Defense Consortium to begin emergency production of reactive armor packages and electronic countermeasures specifically designed to defeat Alexandrium-enriched warheads.
