People's Defense Militia of Oportia

The People's Defense Militia of Oportia (Alexandrian: Milice de Défense Populaire d'Oportie) is a paramilitary civilian defense organization established by Emergency Decree No. 52 on 13.XIV.1744 AN[1] as part of the National Salvation Council's Fortress Oportia national defense strategy.
Created during the escalating regional crisis following the Mehrshahr Meltdown, the militia was designed to supplement regular Oportian Security Forces through the recruitment of civilian volunteers for homeland defense operations under direct military command. The organization draws heavily from the existing infrastructure of the National Youth Service of Oportia, with former NYS participants forming the core leadership cadre and providing pre-trained personnel familiar with military discipline and basic combat skills.
Equipment and training
The militia utilizes surplus military equipment and weapons stockpiled through the National Youth Service of Oportia's training programs, supplemented by requisitioned civilian vehicles and communication equipment. Training focuses on small-unit tactics, sabotage operations, and coordination with regular military forces, building upon the foundation of discipline and patriotic education provided by the National Youth Service.
