Faisal van Looveren, Sheikh of Oud Laar, was a politician in New Batavia and is the founding father of Kurum Ash-Sharqia.

Van Looveren was twice Grand Vizier of the government-in-exile of the IIR. He had different views on the restoration of the IIR to Micras than most members of the leading IRP.

After the restoration he was the leader of the opposition and founded the Voetbalbond van Nieuw-Batavië, as well as the South Corum Independence Party. The SCIP argued for the independence of the English majority governorates. After the independence of Kurum Ash-Sharqia he presided over the Provisional Government and later became the nation's first Grand Vizier.

The Sultan awarded him the title of Grand Officer in the Order of As-Saif in 1702 AN. He was ennobled in 1722 AN. One year after his demise, a mausoleum was erected in Oud Laar.
