7th Cortes Federales

The 7th Cortes Federales was the session of the Cortes Federales of Nouvelle Alexandrie, the national legislature of Nouvelle Alexandrie, with the membership determined in its lower house primarily by the results of the general election held in 1723 AN. Its upper house is composed of the nobles of the Federation, the Chamber of Peers of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Cortes met for the first time since its creation by the Proclamation of Punta Santiago on 13.V.1694 AN. According to the Proclamation of Punta Santiago, the maximum legislative term of the Cortes is 5 AN years from the preceding general election. The 7th Cortes Federales were dissolved by Royal Decree in 1729 AN just before the New Alexandrian general election, 1729.

Election

The 7th New Alexandrian general election was held from 1.XIV.1724 AN to 4.XIV.1724 AN. At the election, the Federal Humanist Party managed to remain the largest party in the lower house, the Federal Assembly, however failed to get an outright majority. After negotiations, the Wakara People's Party and 8 Independent Deputies pledged a Confidence and Supply agreement, offering a 2 seat majority.
