Silvio López Ruiz (born 22.IV.1661 AN) is a Nouveau Alexandrian politician and Member of the Federal Assembly in the Cortes Federales since 1718 AN. Ideologically, he identifies as a socialist.
Life and Education
Ruiz was born in 1661 to a poor family in Punta Santiago. He had one sibling, a brother (Christian Ruiz). His father worked on the docks. Silvio refers to himself as a “street kid” who, whilst competent at school, initially preferred to mess around both in the streets and the classroom than do his work.
Ruiz would, however, begin to take school more seriously as he got into his late teens before going to study Political Science at the University of Punta Santiago. He would later go on to achieve a PhD in Political Science. He did his Thesis on Imperialism: The Relationship between Empire and Capital.
Despite holding many criticisms of the Social Democratic and Liberal Alliance, Ruiz joined the party in 1705 AN.
Academic and Literary Career
For many years, Ruiz taught political science at various higher educational institutions, serving longest at the University of Punta Santiago. Ruiz would go on to leave the educational profession to dedicate more time to political activism and writing.
Ruiz’s writings mostly focus on the topics of Imperialism, democracy, socialism, communism, capitalism, patriotism, and the media.
