Biography
Service career
Conscripted for two years national service, 1699 AN – 1701 AN, at the basic rank of Sarbaz (Soldier).
Completed basic training by I.1700 AN. Consigned to the Casualty Replacements Holding Pen of the Merarhia Ippikou (Cavalry Division).
Purchased release from Holding Pen in return for signing papers pledging to a kul-contract as an officer's orderly on a five year term of enlistment. Passed amongst officers of the 9th Syntagma (1700 AN – 1704 AN). Held the rank of Ypodekaneas (Lance-Corporal).
Released from obligation of service to his contract holders, 1704 AN. Denied discharge from service to the Army and sent to stockade. Released from stockade upon signing a ten year contract of enlistment. Held the rank of Sarbāz Dovom (Specialist).
1704 AN – at auction purchased into the service of the 8th Syntagma regimental cadre of the Mihanokiniti Merarhia (Mechanised Division).
Promoted to Dekaneas (Corporal) in 1706 AN.
Operation Landslide commenced in XIV.1706 AN. Deployed as part of blocking detachments assigned to the rear of the 506th (Molivadian) Army.
Promoted to Kentarchos (Sergeant) in 1707 AN. Accused of making an illicit living by selling property from abandoned Thraci houses. Exonerated by a Regimental Court of Honour after the payment of consideration.
Returned to his parent formation in IV.1708 AN. Joined the Nationalist & Humanist Party.
Enrolled into the Madrese-ye Nezām as part of the first Constancian draft of officer cadets in 1708 AN.
Received the commissioned rank of Anthypolochagos (2nd Lieutenant) at his graduation.
Attached to the Allied Mission in the Suren Confederacy (1709–1711).
Granted an extended leave of absence on the occasion of the death of his father, 1711 AN.
