The Piriya Accord is a trilateral defense agreement signed on 1.IV.1733 AN in Piriya, Nouvelle Alexandrie, between the nations of Nouvelle Alexandrie, Natopia, and Oportia. The accord formalized the joint development of the NOVA Shield, an experimental defensive energy barrier system designed to protect against weapons of mass destruction and other high-impact threats.
The agreement was a direct response to the Streïur uis Faïren (Kin Strife in Praeta) nuclear exchange between Shireroth and the Benacian Union in late 1733 AN. It outlined the framework for resource sharing, technology transfer, and joint research efforts among the three nations, with a primary focus on leveraging Nouvelle Alexandrie's Alexandrium technology, Natopia's advanced technology in aerospace and threat detection systems, and Oportia's strategic defense planning and raw material extraction and processing expertise.
The Piriya Accord established the Tripartite Defense Technology Commission (TDTC) to oversee the NOVA Shield project. It also included provisions for equitable distribution of intellectual property rights and protocols for secure information sharing.
