The Monovia national football team was the football team which most recently represented the Ocian territory of Monovia, and previously represented the West Ocian territory, United Commonwealth constituent nation and independent nation of the same name. It was a member of the CTFA and one of the founding members of the FMF, and was run by the MFR.

The team existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between the organisation's foundation and 2007 as an independent nation, and secondly between 2007 and mid-2013 as a territory of both Hamland and Ocia.

History

Monovia was one of the founding members of the FMF when the organisation was created in October 2006 prior to the first FMF World Cup. The national team competed in the tournament, finishing bottom of its group without any points.

In 2007, Monovia left Micras after being declared dead. However, later in the year, it returned as a constituent nation of the United Commonwealth. Prior to its first World Cup qualifiers the following year, Monovia was annexed by Ocia. In the qualifiers, the team finished bottom of its group after losing all its games.

Monovia was transferred to West Ocian rule following Ocia's split into East and West in 2009, and again became Ocian when the nation reunified later in the year. The Monovians' fortunes improved in 2009, with the team finishing third in the CTFA's World Cup qualifying group, sealing qualification and a third place finish in the 2009 CiboTap Championships in the process. In the World Cup finals, the team finished third in their group, which contained previous champions Beaugium and Craitland, beating Interland in their final match for their only points.

The team had an even more successful qualification round in 2010, winning their three-team group without dropping any points and qualifying for the finals. In the 2010 CiboTap final, the team was comfortably beaten by Alexandria, who won their first title in doing so. The team continued their excellent form in the 2010 FMF World Cup, again winning all three of their matches to top the group, before beating fellow CTFA qualifiers Natopia in the quarter-finals. The team was beaten 3–0 by hosts and eventual runners-up Hamland in their semi-final match before losing to Toketi by a single goal in the third-place play-off.

In the following year's qualifiers, the team finished fourth in the CTFA's sole six-team group, missing-out on a place in the 2011 FMF World Cup but coming fourth in CiboTap 2011.

The team finished second in their 2012 qualifying group, above Zealandia on goal difference, advancing to the CiboTap 2012 semi-finals, where they were beaten by Alexandria and finished fourth for the second consecutive year.

Monovia's fortunes lessened in 2013's qualifying, with the team finishing fourth in their six-team group with 13 points. Monovia left Micras soon afterwards as part of Ocia's removal.
