The Nova English Korea national football team is the football team which currently represents the Mercurian autonomous territory of Nova English Korea, and previously represented the Riponian and Nova English territories of the same name. It is a member of the EMUFA.
The team has existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between 2007 and mid-2008 as a territory of Riponia, and secondly since mid-2008 as a territory of Nova England and in its current form.
History
The team was founded in 2007 after Nova English Korea, which had existed on Micras since before the FMF's founding, applied successfully for FMF membership prior to co-hosting the inaugural EMU Championships with Nova England; at the time, an autonomous territory of Riponia. The team finished sixth in its seven-team group after drawing two of its games.
In mid-2008, Nova English Korea left Micras as a part of Riponia's death. However, it returned soon after as a territory of the newly-founded Nova England, to which it belonged prior to its Riponian annexation, but the national team was not included in that year's World Cup qualifiers due to a lack of internal organisation.
The following year, the team competed in their first qualifiers, finishing third in their group with twelve points.
In 2010, the team finished fourth in its five-team qualifying group without winning a match.
Nova English Korean fortunes improved the following year's qualification, with the team finishing second in their group behind Hamland after winning half of their games.
The team again improved in the 2012 qualifiers and only missed-out on winning their group after losing their final match to Interland. However, the team finished second on 17 points and secured a place in their first EMU Championships since co-hosting in 2007. Following qualification, Nova English Korea left Micras as part of Nova England's removal but the team was granted permission to remain playing due to Mercury's foundation of a non-successive autonomous territory of the same name soon afterwards. Soon afterwards, the team competed in the inaugural Zeeburg Tournaments, where they won the eight-team tournament unbeaten with 17 points. In EMU 2012, the team finished second in their group behind Craitland on goal difference. Later in the year, the team competed in the first Territories Cup, where they finished third in the football tournament.
In the 2013 qualifying, the team topped their group unbeaten with 14 points to reach their first ever World Cup and EMU 2013.
