The team was founded in mid-2018 after the foundation of Alrig as the successor state to the Old Oil Rig. The team first competed in the 2019 World Cup qualifiers, where they finished bottom of their five-team group with one point to their name.

In the following year's Copa Apollonia qualifiers, the team improved and finished third in their six-team group with 15 points. Alrig was annexed by Jingdao later in the year.

In the 2021 FMF World Cup qualification rounds, the team finished third in their five-team group with eleven points.

In January 2022 Alrig played friendly matches against the Sankt Ludwigshafen national football team, the first match in Driftwood, Alrig on January the 5th and the return in Stadt Sankt Ludwigshafen, Sankt Ludwigshafen on January the 12th.
