Department of Treasury (Nouvelle Alexandrie)

The Department of Treasury is the department that serves as the Treasury of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie and is in charge of managing the Federation's currency, the écu. The department also collects the revenue of the federal government through taxation, manages the main instruments of debt and government spending, regulates banks and thrift institutions, and advises the King and the Premier on economic and fiscal matters.

The department is headed by a Secretary of the Treasury, who is appointed by the King on the advice of the President of the Government. They play a critical role in policy-making by bringing an economic and government financial policy perspective to issues facing the Federation. The Secretary of the Treasury is a member of the Council of State.

The position is equivalent to the ministry of finance or ministry of economics of other nations. It is one of the most important and powerful government departments in the Council of State of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Department of the Treasury is headquartered in the Plaza Soleil neighborhood of Cárdenas, FCD, at the Alhambra. The department was established in 1685 AN.
