The Premier of the Order of the Holy Lakes in right of the Realm of the Lakes is the chief executive of the Lake District and heads the Cabinet of the Lake District. Between 1690 and 1720, the office was known as the Prime Minister of the Lake District. The office is colloquially called Premier of the Lake District or Premier of the Realm of the Lakes.
