The Organisation of Blue Symbol Societies (OBSS) is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1755 AN and acts as an international cooperative organization for national cultural heritage protection groups that guard cultural, historical and other heritage resources from threats such as armed conflict and civil strife. The OBSS seeks to protect the pilfering or destruction of cultural resources from monuments and historical sites to paintings and other artwork or movable cultural property.
The Blue Symbol Societies takes its inspiration from and is similarly organized to the Organisation of Red Symbol Societies.
The Organisation was founded by the The Venerable Blue Palisade Society from Meckelnburgh, likewise with its headquarters in Alexandretta on the campus of Alexandretta University (a non-governmental institution). A number of additional societies were admitted as charter members at the inaugural Annual Meeting in 1755 AN.
The Blue Symbol Societies are strongly opposed by the Industrial Archaeology Programmes of the Honourable Company.
