Operation High Voltage (Cibolan Saxon: Unternehmen Hochspannung; Sangunese: 高い電圧作戦 Takai Den'atsu Sakusen) was a Mondosphere military operation to secure Corum Electric in northern Corum.
Background
Following the collapse of the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union, the key energy-production centre of Corum Electric had attracted considerable interest from the Mondosphere. The newly-established Kingdom of East Zimia and the Wallis Islands in particular coveted the city, seeking to control its strategic electrical network across northern Corum.
On 7.IV.1721 AN, East Zimia and the Wallis Islands concluded a treaty with Çakaristan, in which the latter recognised the kingdom's claims to Corum Electric and the immediate area in return for an otherwise free hand in unoccupied northern Corum west of the ninety-sixth meridian east. Having also secured permission from Natopia to forward-base Mondosphere forces on nearby Naya Island, the regime in Southman began planning to secure the city with an audacious air assault.
Forces
Greater Sangun's elite "Soratakai" Airborne Brigade comprised the majority of the ground troops earmarked for the operation, supplemented by a smaller force drawn from the East Zimian and Wallisian War League. Etzeland's 2nd Gravship Squadron, consisting of the gravnoughts Leichengraf and Siebenberge, was redeployed from operations in Hurmu to provide fire support.
The assault force was also accompanied by personnel from the Raspur Pact's Regional Inspectorate of Corum, a small squadron-sized formation tasked with intelligence gathering in the region.
