Operation Coldstone

Operation Coldstone is a contingency plan to ensure the continuity of governance in light of an eruption of Mount Duranian in Eura.

History

The 1715–1716 eruption of Mount Broadshaw inspired a minor governmental query that eventually reached the Office of the Autokrator of Constancia, on whether the Imperial Constancian Government had contingency plans in the event that Mount Duranian were to behave in a similar manner.

A secret Autokratorial Decree was soon promulgated, creating the Coldstone Committee under the Office of National Priorities, Imperial Chancellery, under the Office of the Autokrator. The Committee was composed of the State Protection Authority as Senior Vice Chair, a senior representative of the Ministry of Civil Defense as Vice Chair, a senior staffer of the Civil Administrator of the Ecclesiastical Mountain Republic (eventually enticed to remain resident in Petropolis), senior representatives of the Ministry of Defense and other ministries, charged to develop plans to investigate, mitigate, respond, and recover from such a calamity. Operation Everlasting was likewise amended and updated accordingly.

A Coldstone Project Management Office was eventually opened with the Committee of Euran Salvation.

In line with these proceedings, the Allied Control Commission which served as the government of Zeed eventually created a Ministry of Civil Defense.
